I'm a 25-year-old ex-stem cell researcher and current science teacher (babysitter?) from Ohio.
I enjoy writing, although lately I've just been reading, realistic Outsiders fan fiction. Basically, by "realistic," I mean that the members of the Curtis and/or Shepard gang (and any other minor characters) are acting like they should be, girls (if they are added to the mix) aren't acting like it's 2008, and there is some sort of plot to speak of. Correct spelling (especially of characters' names ... Come on people!) and grammar don't hurt either! If you want some examples, just check out some of my favorite stories and/or authors and you'll see just want I mean.
For those of you interested in my writing, I have a handful of stories:
The Black Cat: This is my very first attempt and fan fiction and quite short and fluffy. It follows Ponyboy one year after the events of the book, with a slightly supernatural twist.
Epiphany: This is the first story that I'm truly proud of ... So I highly recommend it! Think of it as "It's a Wonderful Life" Dally-style. How would things have been if Dally hadn't come to Tulsa in the first place? I enjoyed every second of writing this one, and hope that you like reading it.
Running on Empty: This is my stuck-in-hiatus Steve story. It stems from a short event in Epiphany ... Hopefully I'll find the time, muse, and motivation to get back into this one. :(
Insufferable: My most recent addition to this site, Insufferable, is a short look into Cherry's head. It's a little girly and angsty and was surprisingly easy to get on paper.
So, there you have it. If you happen across any of my stories, please feel free to send any constructive criticism my way. I'm not a writer by occupation (I do this for fun), but I'm always looking to improve! I want to do S.E. Hinton's character's justice, and, hopefully, make her proud.
