The bored rambles of a something-year-old girl.
Hello, welcome, yadda yadda.
This profile is becoming less of a 'profile' and more of a blank space for my current thoughts/ all that jazz. I supose you could take that as a warning not to read on, my thoughts often jumble themselves into a knotted ball of string, splashed with incoherency with a drizzle of can't-be-bothered-to-type-anymore.
I'll get the basics out of the way for those who want to know: I'm 17 (not in my mind, though. The stereotypical thoughts of boozesexdrugswastemyfuture alluded to teenagers are not for me. Yes, I'm one of those girls. The ones that smell of essays, books, pencils and a smidge of sarcasm) and was born in July, in Wales (and for goodness sake, our nationality is Welsh not Whalish, which sounds like the nationality of whales. Never in my life have I associated Humpbacks and Moby Dick with the Welsh... with the exception of my neighbour) and, goodness, that is a lot of bracket use.
I love writing, obviously, but art, and I mean art not just doodling, is one thing I cannot do without. To draw is to live, and all that philosophical business. A finely animated movie to me is just one of the most gorgeous things to see -- yet, my writer side kicks in and demands quality too. One of the reasons Disney (and I'm focusing on as of late, really, although it has always been questionable) ultimately leaves me disappointed. This 3-D route... I know the mainstream/ mass audience eat it up, but I hate how 2-D has died because of it. As someone who wanted to be an animator before she even knew what an animator was (found out when I was six), to see 2-D fade away is disgusting and horrible. I know, I know, Disney is not the only Western animation company, but it's the one with the influence, the ones that dictates the Western attitude to animation. This is why whatever god I can think of should be thanked for Hayao Miyazaki, a god in his own right. Not only is his art work beautiful, but the plot, the message, the characters are all so wonderful and human. He is called the 'Disney of the East' but this title does nothing to credit this man, someone who has such rigid control over his films, who can create characters you actually care about and can relate to. Fans all over the world love his strong, refreshingly realistic representation of women, but he never forgets about his male characters either. Simply: God, I love this man. Disney, I beg you, learn from him.
I did warn you about my rants.
[watch this space for more drabbles of boredom, coming soon to a computer screen near you.
My mam rocks.
To the Amazing Six of MY animation studio, I love you (muah~) and thank you for showing me so much while I worked with you! Also, Chris Appelhans is the sex.
I am addicted to a band called DBSK (DBSG, TVXQ, TVFXQ, THSK...whatever you call them) and YunJae is fo'ever real, yo. The End.
No seriously, The End.
