It was raining, and the scenery had changed to pine trees. Very green, very wet, very grey. The light in this practically barren room was bright, but with a grayish hue. Just sitting. Staring. My mind was blank, and I really didn’t feel like moving. Just sitting. Staring. Wandering through a surreal world of foggy and muddled perceptions as I delved deeper into myself. Just sitting. Staring. Soon, I was blind to the whole world, and deaf. I didn’t know what –If anything- was happening, and I really didn’t care. Just sitting was good for me. My mind was taking me to a new place, where there was no room, there was no reason to be sitting, and things that could never happen were taking place. I was flying through my imagination, unaware for the moment that anything else but this perfect fantasy was real. I wanted it to be real. Just me, the rain, the pine forest, and my dreams. The music blaring in my earphones switched tracks, painting a whole new picture in my imagination. One that was darker, more mysterious, corresponding with the minor key I barely heard playing. Now I was flying through a dark and dappled forest at night, all blues and greens and silver in the moonlight. But this perfection couldn’t last. Slowly, I became aware of pine trees and rain, then the smudged glass pane of a window, then the empty room again. I lazily turned my head to stare around the space, dredging up memories of the paradise I had just exited, and sighed. The memories were few and fleeting… like the land I had just visited was hiding from me and I needed to find it again. Slowly, I stood up and walked out of the room. I would see it again, just like always, and this world I was stuck in would disappear for a few minutes and I could experience the freedom and calm of my fantasy… But not today. Soon. Some people have Quotes of the Day, but they don't actually update them every day, and if they did, that would prove somehting socially deficient and very sad indeed about them. Me, I try not to lie to anyone who might be painfully bored enough to look at my page. My title? It is: Quote of the Indefinite Amount of Time: "LACKEYS, I say!" | |||||||
