Basic Stuff

Hello all! My name is Melissa Hicks, I'm 19 and I am currently enrolled in college at Cincinnati State for Audio/Video Production w/a minor in Theater.

Now onto the good stuff. In my spare time I totally obsess about a certain scrum-diddley-umpcious, mmm mmm good, beautiful hunk of man flesh that goes by the name of Johnny Depp! Especially Captain Jack Sparrow. Gotta love a man who still looks hot in eyeliner. Anyways, like I said I obsess so I could pretty much tell you everything about this man down to his social security number. Scare you yet? Don't worry the FBI and CIA constantly monitor my borderline stalking habits and continue to foil my kidnapping plots (meddling kids and their stupid dog!).

Writing Life

I have been writing since I was in the third grade, mostly fanfiction work. In my freshman year of high school I auditioned and was accepted into the Creative Writing program at the School for Creative and Performing Arts. There I took poetry, play writing, screen writing and some other bundles of joy.

In the beginning of my fanfiction life I wrote alot of Dragonball Z, General Hospital and Law and Order: SVU. At school however it was all original pieces and we even had some murder mysteries we wrote performed by the drama dept.

All that I've posted here though is Pirates.

My Stories

My first story was Final Stand, I encourage you all to check it out cause it took me six hours straight to write it out. :) Oneshot that takes place during AWE final battle between Davy Jones, Jack and Lizzie. It is a Sparrabeth story, so you have been warned.

My second story is Not For Me. It also takes place during AWE though at the Bretheren Court through the edning of AWE. Elizabeth figures out that she has fallen in love with Jack and in an attempt to get to know him better she goes and has a late night chat with Captain Teague. Also Sparrabeth. This one has kind of been on hiatus for awhile and I apologize sincerely. I've been revising the end and no matter how many times that I write it I'm still not liking it. But I promise to have at least another chapter (no matter how much I like it) out someday. So, bear with me. :)

Next is a little three parter called Escaping The Memories ... its kinda dreary and I have to be in a certain mood to write it...its Sparrabeth as always. It works as a oneshot at the moment but I do plan on updating it eventually. Just not a top priority.

I have several one-shots, some you are already seeing with Wasted and I'm Already There. There will be more of these types in the future. As of current, my computer is working too well...so it might take a bit to get this stuff up. But keep a weather eye on the horizon.

Other Story Info

Though so far I have only written J/E I am never opposed to reading or writing W/E as long as Jack is still a big part of the story because he's my favorite. :) I will NOT write O/C's though...I just don't think that I'd be very good at it. But there are some really good stories with O/C's out there. For instance, check out any of mypiratecat1's stories. She's brilliant.

I like to read and write stories that kinda focus on Jack & Teague for two reasons, the first being that I LOVE Keith Richards and the second being that I think there is so many possibilities you can explore between them and Jack's past.

I do get annoyed by stories that have modern people thrown into the POTC times because most of the time they are not very well written and frankly...the idea has been beaten into the ground.

Long lost kids...eh. Depends on the plot, depends on the writer. Sometimes these work ot and other times they are just pure crap.

After AWE are my favorite kind of stories. Just because you don't have the constraints of the movies that you generally follow to some extent.

Lately, I've been on a Gone With The Wind kick so I am currently trying to put together my first story for that fandom. Rhett and Scarlett all the way! ;) And Clark Gable... swoon I love him. =)
