Author has written 4 stories for Final Fantasy VII, and Kingdom Hearts.

20, English Lit student, Female.

I love writing one-shots, so please don't hate me for that! I know everyone likes a good multi-chapter fic, but so far In the Quiet of Days is the only story I've written that I've felt needed more than one chapter. What usually happens with my one-shots is that I'll hear a line from a song, or a film, or a TV programme, and it will stick in my brain until I've managed to create an entire story around this one itty-bitty piece of inspiration.

My Stories

In the Quiet of Days - [completed] (Final Fantasy VII) Previously titled I Kissed the Rain. Man this thing drained the life out of me, but I still love it. I wanted with this story to write a mixture of a real life romance (i.e. where's there's not necessarily a happy ending) and a coming of age story. This was been particularly trying to write, and as I started it about three years ago I feel that you can see over each chapter how my writing has progressed since I started it! I'm so proud of this, as it's the first multi-chapter story I've ever completed. I refer to this in my head as my Magnum Opus. My pride and joy!

When You Tire - [completed] (Final Fantasy VII) this was a one-shot that sprung into my mind one day whilst watching Advent Children Complete. There's a lovely scene between Cloud and Marlene, and she tells him that she knew how hard he was working towards finding a cure for Denzel's Geostigma. When he is surprised that she knew about this, she says something along the lines of "Cloud, you should learn to clean your desk out once in a while." I just had this image in my head of him hunched over at his desk. I think that Advent Children is really good in the way that it shows Tifa as a woman who loves from afar and has been left behind, and so I really tried to show this in the story. Plus, I absolutely adore the friendship between Zack and Cloud, so there may be more one-shots to come set between the game and the film that reflect on their friendship.

Without a Word - [completed] (Kingdom Hearts) this just kind of popped into my head. Now, I fully endorse SoraxKairi (trust me, I'm like the biggest supporter of those two - he didn't go through all that for nothing!), but I was listening to a sad song and I had the idea for this one-shot. It's a first person narrated story from Kairi's point of view, and she may seem a little out of character for some people so I'm sorry if you feel that way! I get a little annoyed with her in the game sometimes. This one-shot is about an affair that Kairi and Roxas start having, even though he's dating her flatmate and best friend Naminé. It's actually very sad. Like, really sad.

Girl Unobserved - [completed] (Kingdom Hearts) a Rox/Nam one-shot. I will always, always have time for this pairing! This story was very inspired by a quote from The Notebook and Ellie Goulding's song The Writer. I had an idea a while back for a fic about a rich, bored housewife but that began to change as I wrote this. I wanted to make the character a lot more likeable which is why she has a sad past, and I didn't want to make it seem like she was bored with Roxas, so hopefully their love shines through this. I'm very pleased with this, though it took me a lot less time that Without a Word did, thankfully.

Upcoming Projects:

Final Fantasy VII

Rivers of the Heart: anyone who has read my multi-chap In the Quiet of Days will understand the title of this. This is going to be a collection of one-shots that take place in the wake of In the Quiet of Days' finish, which will be soon. Each one-shot will be posted separately but will be a part of this collection. The inspiration for this came from Square Enix's collection of novellas for FFVII called On the Way to a Smile which was released with Advent Children Complete. There will be four stories, focussing on Zack, Yuffie, Aerith and Cloud, and the span of the stories will take place from the original fic's finish to a year later, when it is mentioned that Tifa has decided to sit down and write the story out. Brief summary of each fic:

{Closer than Far - Zack. Life has moved on and Zack is building a new home for himself and Aerith, but Cloud is never far from his thoughts and worries.

The Heart-Box - Yuffie. She is trying to right the wrongs she has done, but still she is being dragged deeper into the wrong world, and is losing hope of ever opening her heart to someone.

Father and Son, Father and Daughter - Aerith. It doesn't seem to matter that the pain is gone, because every time she looks into their eyes she catches flashes of the memories that made them who they are.

Once is Here - Cloud. Because somewhere along the line, he started referring to her in his head as his Tifa.

Spectrum - an earthquake in Edge leaves Tifa and the kids trapped beneath the rubble of Seventh Heaven. As Cloud and the others pull away the rubble in an attempt to find them, be they alive or not, he wonders if he could ever cope without anyone of them.

[Currently Untitled] - this needs some work and planning, but it should be up soon. It is set in the same time as When You Tire (between the game and Advent Children), and there is a lot of focus on Cloud's friendship with Zack when he was alive and how he is still suffering from the guilt he carries. However, this one-shot will primarily look at Cloud and Marlene's relationship, and look at Cloud's feelings for Tifa. Basic summary: Tifa goes away for a week to visit a friend, leaving Cloud to take care of the bar and Marlene. Seeing that he is still burdened by his guilt, Marlene tries over the course of the week to lessen his burden.

Kingdom Hearts

In Place of Strife - this was originally going to be a multi-chapter story that I did start to post on here but it wasn't working right. I've wrestled with it a lot and had to do a huge amount of planning for it but I'm in the process of writing it now and it's working nicely. It was originally going to be completely from Cloud's perspective, but I've decided to split it into three long chapters, the first being Cloud's perspective and the second being Kairi's, and the third will probably be a mixture. This story is a mixture of the present and the past, so the present will be written in the present tense (duh) and in italics, and the past will be written in (yeah you got it) the past tense, non-italics. I wanted to focus on the relationship between an uncle and nephew, so in this story, Sora is the son of Aerith and Zack, Zack and Cloud are brothers, and Roxas is the son of Tifa and Cloud. The Cloud chapter will look at how he passes over his own son Roxas in favour of his nephew, and the repercussions of this, and the Kairi section will be a bit like Tifa's growth in In the Quiet of Days, so it will be somewhat a Bildungsroman (i.e. a coming of age novel). This story was very heavily influenced by Sophie Dahl's beautiful novel Playing with the Grown-ups, and those who have read this will no doubt see its influence in this.

Of Ribbon and Bone - Three girls in a ballet company. Two choices. One role. Sparks, like dancers, inevitably fly.

Both Sides Now - The only thing he knew with absolute certainty was that he loved her, and if it meant giving himself up to let her be with him, the one he hated most, he would do it. If it made her life whole again, he didn't need to be a part of it. Pairing: Kairi/Roxas, Sora-centric

We Both Could Live - this is set in the universe of my sister Fifi Mcfu's story Kiss and I Will Surrender. When I get round to uploading this, please read her story first! It's listed in my favourites, and she's listed as a favourite author. KAIWS is a SoraxRoxas fic but in this little one-shot I wanted to give the perspective of Roxas' brother Cloud through the fic's certain events, and make some of my own. I'm really looking forward to writing the rest of this.
