What, oh yes, a profile... just a sec...

Hello! What a magnificent place this is. The tradition of Fanfiction goes back at least as far as Virgil when he essentially wrote the Iliad: Part 2 because of his love of Homer, and everyone should think so!

Oh, and just to say, as it has surprised some people, I am male! I shall take quite so many people thinking I was female as a compliment, and delude myself into thinking it was thanks to realistic female characters!

My Current Project:

The Lion King - Rafiki's Tales

This is a series of five stories, two prequels and three sequels to the films, told through the eyes of Rafiki and, to a lesser extent, Zazu. Although these characters are the narrators, however, each story will focus on a different set of characters, often settling on the Royal Family of the Pridelands. I have tried to make these stories true to the Disney tone, able to be surprisingly dark but usually, at the end, there is some light.

I've also decided to base many of them on Shakespeare plays, but to take as much liberty with the play as TLK did with Hamlet, i.e. keep the structure whilst making the characterisation new. A small reward will be allocated to the reviewer who guesses which play is being used each time.

Rafiki's Tales: Dawn

Rafiki tells a tale of Mufasa's predecessor as King, the Proud King Kagai, and of how he and a young blue hornbill solved a problem of an unwise bethrothal with the help of a very unusual pair of lions. Rather more comic in tone than later episodes, and my first one, so perhaps less polished, it still has a place in my heart! However, I have just taken it off the site for a major overhaul, watch this space!

Rafiki's Tales: Morning

As Old King Kagai seeks to divide his kingdom, the next generation are set to take over. But when great power is on offer, it proves too much of a temptation for some... A much darker piece, it focuses on the pre-Simba generation, including Mufasa, Scar, Sarabi, Zira and Sarafina.

Rafiki's Tales: Afternoon

The Past can bind us or make us free. Can Kovu, Kiara and Vitani put it behind them? Has Kiara betrayed Kovu? Has Vitani found someone to love at last? And can Timon and Pumbaa work out what is happening before the heirs to the throne tear each other apart? When Kovu is sent to settle a border dispute he finds his world has been turned upside down...

Rafiki's Tales: Evening

There are many types and forms of love and hate. Is it possible for anyone, even a hyena,to find redemption? And when Timon finds love, how much is Pumbaa prepared to sacrifice to help his friend?

Rafiki's Tales: Sunset

The Battle lines are drawn up. A false shaman is rallying her troops. In the Pridelands, there is a battle between love and duty going on in many hearts, and Rafiki realises that this may be his last story. But as the darkness closes in, the question remains - who can continue the circle of life after him?

And after that...?

Heh, let's just say I may not be quite out of stories when Sunset draws to a close...
