Author has written 16 stories for Bartimaeus Trilogy, Song of the Lioness, Animorphs, Maximum Ride, His Dark Materials, Kite Runner, Charlie Bone, Danny Phantom, Alex Rider, and Margaret Peterson Haddix.

Quote of the current time-being:
(Background: Aragorn and Legolas have just fled from the palace in Mirkwood via the river that carries barrels from the palace to Lake Town. They are now being carried along the river and Legolas is attempting to support he and Aragorn both while Aragorn tries to get his breath back.)

(Narration): "I thought you said you could swim," the elf remarked as he attempted to guide them both towards the shoreline. His tone was the only thing about them that was dry.

Spoken by: Legolas (and narration)

Taken from: The amazing Mellon Chronicles series by Cassia and Siobhan. More specifically, the story called Exile.

Featured because:
I am a great fan of humor. I'm an even bigger fan of intelligent, chuckle-worthy humor that is slipped into a story here and there to lighten the mood, as this was. Cassia and Siobhan do this a lot throughout their stories, both in the characters' dialogue and in their wry narration. The example above is just one such instance of humor that has always amused me, no matter how many times I've re-read Exile.

My name is Ashe. I write mainly for book fandoms, rarely (if ever) straying into TV shows, comics, movies or anime. I've been on fanfiction since '05, when I was younger and a much worse writer. Thanks to my love of books, a couple good English teachers and some valuable advice from writers on here and on Fictionpress, I have improved vastly since then. Thank God.

On the whole, the way I am on the Internet is the way I am in real life. The only difference is that you'll find me more timid in real life - but then, a lot of people are that way. But you can rest assured that I don't pretend to be someone I'm not. I don't pretend I'm an adult, hyper, random, above criticism, or sighted (in other words, I'm an aspiring writer, under twenty one years old, who's blind and very down-to-earth.) I'm not the type of reviewer to give only glowing praise (not anymore, anyway - there was a time, but I've outgrown it, thankfully), because there's always something everyone can improve upon. Always.

Just for the record, I'd like to point out that I do, in fact, have a life. when I'm not on the computer, I go to school, do homework, play the flute, read (mostly sci-fi and fantasy), write original fiction (sci-fi, humor, fantasy), play goalball (a sport adapted for the blind, sort of like soccer), listen to old-time radio shows (Our Miss Brooks, X Minus One, the Adventures of Superman, Box 13, Fibber McGee and Molly), research mental disorders and diseases for fun (OCD, ADD, ODD), etc. That, friends, is what I do in my free time.

Ashe, signing out.

And because I couldn't resist, here's the all-important "quotes" section. Old "quotes of the current time-being" will often end up here, too.

Clark Kent: (Reading a message he has just received) Clark Kent, Daily Planet. Here is a little friendly advice: Keep your nose out of other people's business or you won't be using it to breathe with very long.
- "Metropolis Football Team" (Adventures of Superman, old-time radio)

Mr. White: But what if you run into (the vilains) out there - you and the girl and Anderson?
Clark Kent: If we do, I can handle it all right.
Mr. White:You? Alone? Who do you think you are - Superman?
Clark: Gee, gosh, no, Chief - I mean, we'll ... We'll be all right.
(Later, outside White's office)
Clark: (Dryly, to self) Do I think I'm Superman? Well, as a matter of fact, Mr. White, I do.
- Unknown show (Adventures of Superman, old-time Radio)

(Talking about Smits's huge bodyguard Oscar, who has a sledgehammer)
Trey: (gulping) Is he always ... um ... armed like that?
- Among the Barons (Margaret Peterson Haddix)

"And stars don't care what you wish, and magic don't make things better, and no one doesn't get burned who sticks their hand in a fire."
- Granny Weatherwax, Witches Abroad (Terry Pratchett)

"And I am not Travis Jackson. I'm braver than I used to be, I’ve done things now that I never would have dreamed of before. But I’m still Trahern Cromwell Torrance. I always will be."
- Trey Torrance/Jackson, Among the Brave (Margaret Peterson Haddix)

(Batman and Robin are crouching on a porch roof. Below them, in the room they’ve just climed out of via a window, three men are searching for them.)
George (boss): (from inside) Take a look out on the roof, Joe. The porch roof.
Joe: (from inside) Okay.
Batman: Get down, Robin!
Robin: Aw, relax. He can’t see anything out here, it’s too dark.
Batman: Ever hear of flashlights?
(Window opens)
Watch it, the window’s coming up.
Joe: (To George) Can’t see nothin’ out here, boss. Too dark.
Robin: (Smug) Ha. What’d I tell you?
George: Wait a minute. I’ve got a flashlight.
Batman: What’d I tell you? Now we’re in trouble.
- Superman Vs. Kryptonite (Adventures of Superman, old-time radio)

"Granny Flash always said that the trouble with 'an eye for an eye' is that everybody ends up blind."
- Flash, Flashpoint (Justice League)
