Author has written 13 stories for Sailor Moon, Kim Possible, and Bubblegum Crisis. About The Author: I've been writing anime, video game, and cartoon fanfics since about 1996 and in High School. I started with Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyou fanfics, which were much more popular back in the day, but eventually branched out into other series, including Bubblegum Crisis, Martian Successor Nadesico, and Slayers. I started writing and illustrating my own fantasy webcomic called 'Never-Forever' from 2001-2004, and finally returned to fanfiction writing in 2005 with my first Kim Possible fanfic. Today I spend most of my time continuing my ongoing Kim Possible fanfics while doing some original writing on the side for various projects. My favorite genre to write and read is the 'fantasy-grounded-in-reality' style of story, which is pretty evident in my stories. I like to see 'normal' characters get suddenly blindsided by the fantastic and try to rationalize what's happening. I also like to see the challenges and road-blocks faced trying to bring romance to fruition, and, as such, I like to see a strong romance sub-plot as part of most stories I read and write. Especially an 'against-all-odds' sort of romance, which is probably why I'm a such a fan of KiGo. Author's/Readers' Picks: While there aren't all that many stories here, they are mostly very lengthy, and a prospective reader might want to know what's considered the best and the worst of the lot here. I am proud, to some degree, of every story I've finished, but there are a few that stand out for me and a few that have garnered a bit of acclaim from others. My favorite stories: Admirer, Fling, and A Period of Silence - Fling and A Period of Silence make up my Kigo epic. Fling is easily the most poetic of the stories I've written, and probably the shortest thing I've ever written. It quickly captures what I think would go through Kim and Shego's minds after having slept together for the first time. A Period of Silence, while placing Kigo in a prominent position, is really my take on how a teen hero and world renowned villain might try to live after their respective careers have ended. Admirer is fun. So little of what I write is just unabashed fun and adventure without becoming mired in angst. Yeah, Kim goes though an epiphany in the end but it's not dwelled on very much. Readers' Picks: A Period of Silence and POSSIBILITY ENGINE - While I've never actually held a readers poll or anything, these two seem to get the most attention from people. The Kim Possible KiGo community is probably the largest sub-group of the fandom so it's probably not surprising that my KiGo epic is well read. Possibility Engine is intended to appeal to everyone and I guess its popularity means it has. KP Fannies Awards: For those of you who don't know, every year the Kim Possible fanfic writing community goes through the Annual Kim Possible Fanfic Awards ceremonies, traditionally called the 'Fannies.' I've been honored with nominations for every year I've been writing. 2nd Annual Fannies (Stories in 2006) - Nominated for Best Writer; Best Story Overall: 'Sometimes There Isn't A Point'; Best Drama: 'A Period of Silence'; Best Kigo Story: 'Fling'; Best Original Character: Allucinere from 'A Period of Silence.' 3rd Annual Fannies (Stories in 2007) - Finalist for 'Best Villain' Allucinere from 'A Period of Silence.' Current Status: Next Up: Musical Masks - on going, updates every Monday. 1-20-2009: Happy New Years! Well, three weeks ago anyway. Musical Masks is still my primary concern at this point and trying to keep the weekly updates coming. I've fluxuated a bit in the week as far as my 'Mondays' mark is concerned, but hopefully I can recover and get back to a regular schedule. Today Chapter 10 of that story posted, which I hope means I have the momentum to keep going through to the end, which I suspect will come some time in May. At that point I'll probably switch gears and go to Full of Grace for a while. I'm expecting Full of Grace to run just as long as it's predecessor, about 12 chapters total. After that it'll probably be september/october. Maybe that'd be a good time to start up a Musical Masks sequel? I dunno, I don't like to plan that far in advance because my plans often fall apart at that point. 12-10-2008: Musical Masks is continuing as planned with no missed Mondays yet, though this past Monday was in the evening instead of at midnight the previous night. I'll make it up next week. Right now the story seems to be a little bit popluar, if FFnet's stats page is to be believed. It makes me happy to see it doing so well, I haven't really had much luck recently since I finished A Period of Silence. Anyway, I think for the time being the Interlude after Book I of POSSIBILITY ENGINE is going to be set aside in favor of starting Book II. I have a story I want to tell there, and someday I may get back to it, but it's just not working right now and I'd rather get back to Shego and "Cassie." Also, depending on how the Musical Masks story turns out, I may take a short break sometime in 2009 and start releasing Full of Grace chapters in its place on Mondays. 11-10-2008: Took a detour from everything I had been writing to try my hand at something new. Musical Masks is a somewhat silly tale that won't have major story arcs or world shaking events. I'm trying to keep it decidedly linear and simple, but that's always my intent at the start, we'll see how long this one lasts. I'm shooting for weekly updates, lets see how long that lasts. Everything else has been put on deck for the time being. Apocolocyntosis has been mired in stodgy writing and lack of energy, Ron and Drakken Save The World quickly turned to melodrama and angst, which is the complete opposite of what I wanted for it, and Full of Grace... well, I've plotted out several chapters of it but I'm missing my muse. I don't feel the tale. So I'm going to do Musical Masks for a while until I find out what happened to my writing groove. 10-24-2008: Oddly enough, I've dusted off 'Sometimes There Isn't A Point' and started work on the long promised 'Full of Grace.' The sequel is taking a more traditional approach to storytelling, landing somewhere between the fragmented narrative of 'Isn't a Point' and the every-second-accounted-for style of Apocolocyntosis. I'm not sure when to expect the first chapter, I'm trying to build up a backlog so at least groups of chapters will be released with short gaps between. We'll see. 10-6-2008: Still alive, but not really producing much. Apocolocyntosis is definitely going to get a new Episode before Possibility Engine, but I can't promise when. Neither story is over, but both are going to be suffering heavy delays. Also, The LAST Thing You Wanted To Read is essentially canceled. I thought it was a nifty idea, but, no, I just don't have the energy to carry it out. Also, while I think Deadpool is a fun character I just can't write him for any sustained period of time. I use up material too quickly. Sorry. | |||||||||||
