Notices:
06/02/08 - I've started writing in the Sharpe fandom, but since there isn't a category for it here it won't get posted. You can find these pieces here at my fic journal; http://fleet-everland.livejournal.com/profile
28/12/07 - I've been having some problems with my email alerts (i.e. not turning up) for several months now, so if you've reviewed a story of mine or recently, or sent me an IM and not received a reply my sincerest apologies, but it won't have received it. Could I therefore ask that anyone wishing to contact me do so by sending a direct email; 'cause if you send an IM, I simply won't get it. Reviews can still be left inthe usual manner, although it may take me some time to find them. Thank you for your attention.
03/04/07 - Huzzah! Over a thousand hits for "The Monkshood Plant" and still going. Thank you to all readers, reviewers and everyone else for being so patient.

Fic-related:
I have several stories on the go at the same time, which means I've got quite a lot of material written but very little of it finished. It's probably going to be a while before the amount of literature justifies the bio; but I'm working on it.Just a few warnings/notes about my stories;
1) I will never so long as I live write "Phantom of the Opera". The original is too sacred.
2) Unless I suddenly get an uncharacteristic light of inspiration most of them will be about Javert.
3) Expect very little continuity between stories - I have no main "Javert arc" as others do (yet), so don't think otherwise. The only things that will be carried across are names and some characters I have thought up, although their personalities/relationships to one another may change slightly depending on the need of the story.
4) I like to experiment a lot. People have congratulated me on originality, but this is mainly because most of the ideas I come up with are so blatantly absurd no one's mad enough to try them.
5) You will notice that I have a rather unusual interest in matters of the occult - the result of an entire year sitting in the school library at lunchtime reading through all the books in that section - and I'm sorry to say this is more than likely to come out in quite a few of my stories. So by all means expect a lot more loupy ideas (and yes, I know I've spellt that wrong).
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
N.B. If you have ever heard of or come across werewolf!Javert or vampire!Stephen Maturin, it started here first, folks. :) I think I might also be responsible for the noticable rise in "Les Miz" ghost stories on this site, but I don't have sufficient evidence to lay a claim.
Personal:
Hello! I'm British (English to be precise) and I'm female. I like "Les Miz" and "Phantom". I like Javert, I hate Marius. I'm a student-in-waiting. Need I say more?Well, yes probably.
I consider myself lucky enough to have grown up living a mere hour away from the West End by train and therefore to have a constant tap on musicals. As a result I have seen "Les Miz" about six times and am distinctly the worse off in the financial department. I'm very much into Tolkien, having been fascinated with fairytales and dragons all my life. I had never been satisfied by the traditional portrayal of Elves as little pointy things with bells that run around after Father Christmas, and had desperately wanted Elves to be something better than that. You could not have imagined my joy when I found out that Elves were truly tall, powerful and fair beings. Since then I have started paying a lot more attention to Celtic and Norse mythology.
On that point as well, I prefer to use the words "Father Christmas" than "Santa Claus". That probably speaks volumes as to the kind of person I am. I'm probably also one of the few people in the world who've managed to get a split lip, black eye, front teeth knocked back and a sprained thumb on a bouncy castle (in one evening).
I am a huge fan of the new "Doctor Who", Terry Pratchett (If you haven't read any Discworld novels; do. They're -ing brilliant!), Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings", Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series, C.S. Forester's Hornblower Series (Bush, Bush, BUSH!), "The Goons", "The Navy Lark", "The Goodies" and "Highlander: The Series". I like trees and wide open green spaces. I also love the sea. By process of elimination I therefore hate built-up areas (except London, Oxford and Paris). My favourite actor is Michael McCarthy, whom some of you will know from the final weeks of the Broadway "Les Miz". For me he comes first in the List of Javerts and knocks Philip Quast for six. It is also my opinion that Russell Crowe, Philip Quast and koalas are three of the best reasons to move to Australia.
Having been christened Javert by my oh so wonderful friends I have now exacted my revenge and two of them have now been known as Fantine and 24602 for a very long time.
