Author has written 9 stories for Rurouni Kenshin, Ranma, and Harry Potter.
Reading is my passion. After years of enjoying fanfiction, I decided to try my hand at writing some myself.
My favorite types of books are fantasy, sci-fi, and romance. I also adore the A&E six-hour Pride&Prejudice, Vin Diesel's voice, Twizzlers, and peppermint flavored anything. I graduated with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Japanese. I'm trying to get my PhD and write my dissertation in Animal Behavior/Physiology right now, and I also have a baby, so that's to blame for my lack of updates.
Favorite Manga/Anime: Ranma, Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, Mars, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (‘For you in full blossom’), Fruits basket, Tokyo Crazy Paradise, Bleach, Akuma no Ororon (The Demon Ororon), Chrono Crusade, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge (The Wallflower), Escaflowne, Trigun, Rayearth, Gokusen, 1/2 Prince, Skip Beat!
I also like fanfic from: Labyrinth, Harry Potter (Draco/Hermione especially), Babylon 5, Earth 2, Pretender, Stargate (SG-1 & SGA (esp. Rodney)), Tinman, Doctor Who (Rose/Doctor), Star Trek, Avengers, The Hobbit.
Shows I've loved over the years: Babylon 5, Farscape, Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Xena, Hercules, La Femme Nikita (90s version), Highlander, X-Files, Roswell, Earth 2, Pretender, Bones, Dr. Quinn- Medicine Woman, So You Think You Can Dance, America's Next Top Model, Project Runway, JAG, NCIS, Food Network Challenge (cakes), Army Wives, The Unit, Doctor Who (9th-10th Dr.).
May 28, 2013 - I have the chapter of NMPA after this one written, I just need to write the bridging scenes to get there. I have a major project due right now though, so things are going slow. Bah.
I bought and watched the new Kenshin live action movie. It was awesome and made me love RK all over again! The fight scenes were great and some of the stances were spot on. I had mixed feelings about Sano sometimes, as he didn't look quite right to me and was occasionally more annoying than amusing. The fight in the kitchen did make me chuckle though. Saitou's opening wasn't the best (it seemed like they were trying too hard), but his modern-day self was super cool, and made me fall in love with his character again and start thinking about Liquid Flame plotlines. Megumi was perfect, from the way she looked to dialog to acting. Initially I was hesitant about the actors playing Kenshin and Kaoru, but they totally won me over, especially Kenshin. There were a few times I found Kaoru disappointing, but part of the problem there was the plot and dialog she was given, and partly the way I've been spoiled by fanfic into seeing her as a little more pro-active and forward. Not that she didn't have several good moments of strength and compassion, because she did. Overall, I'm glad I own it so I can re-watch it. Yay!
Hakama Dake WON for best Kenshin & Kaoru Romance/WAFF in the RKRC for 2005! Thank you so much and Yay!
The most awesome Quenya translated Hakama Dake into Italian. Wowzers!
Unfinished Fic writing priority (highest to lowest):
No More Pussyfooting Around (Ranma)
The Scent of Parchment (Harry Potter)
LIQUID FLAME: RK (Mystery/Action/Adventure/Romance) AU Fantasy focusing on Saitou/Tokio with chibi Kaoru and young Battousai. Lots of cool fight scenes and plot in this one, or at least there will be. First in a Series. Part II will focus on KK. Eventually.
Passion, it lies in all of us. Sleeping...waiting...and though unwanted, unbidden, it will stir...open its jaws, and howl. It speaks to us...guides us...Passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love...the clarity of hatred... and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we would be hollow, empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion, we'd be truly dead.
