Author has written 14 stories for Pirates of the Caribbean, and Star Wars. So I was clicking around the site and reading random authors' stories and profiles (quite fun- you should try it --discreetly points to stories below--), when I suddenly thought "Hey, these bio things are pretty nifty. I wonder if I should get around to writing one, considering I've been on this site for two-and-a-half years." So then I did...am...whatever. What's there to say about me? I'm your average seventeen-year-old nerd who likes to pretend that she actually owns other people's characters. It's quite fun, really. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I'd say that I love PotC, LotR, and Star Wars (among other fandoms), but I should think that that's pretty glaringly obvious, between my own list of stories and my absurdly long list of favorites. I'm a proud Texan (though I shall refrain from excessively using "y'all" and suchlike) and an even prouder Christian. I'm a Junior in high school and a member of my school band (w00t percussion). I hope to one day publish my own novel (assuming that I'm ever able to make a plot bunny behave long enough to actually finish a story). But y'all (yeah, I said it) probably don't care much about the finer details of my personal life. As an author, I'm exceedingly random in my subject matter, though I do seem to have taken a shining to quasi angst (and sometimes just full-blown angst) in my more recent stories. But I don't like the super-depressing stuff, usually. Just enough to make you go "Aww..." And usually it's for characters that people don't think about much usually, since there are already a bajillion Will/Liz/Jack introspective/angsty stories (not to say I don't love 'em; I just like being unique). Yes, I'm rambling. No, I'm not going to stop. Anywho, expect the unexpected when it comes to my stories, in both fic content and updates. Quite sadly, I am no longer a little nerdling who writes because she has nothing better to do. I just like to pretend that I have nothing better to do, until I'm dragged kicking and screaming back to reality. So sometimes I may start a multi-chaptered fic (coughAdequatecough), only to then find out that, hey, I don't actually have the time to devote much thought to it at the present (much to my chagrin, I assure you). Plus, my muse is very, very ADD, so it/she tends to randomly move from one topic to another without any regard for what I would like to do. Basically, I'm making excuses for the pathetic lack of updates. (But they're good excuses!) So, enough about me. My stories: Completed Time and Tide / Barbossa's Revenge / Blood of a Pirate: My first attempts at writing fanfiction, ever. They're pathetic and I know it, but I leave them up because A) they're good personal motivation to do better B) I'm too sentimental to get rid of anything (as is evinced by the state of my room) and C) people can read them and (hopefully) say "Wow, she's gotten a lot better. If she can make such a quantum leap in writing, maybe I can too. There is hope yet!" And so on and so forth. So, essentially, don't read them if you don't have a good sense of humor and/or are actually looking for good fanfiction. Barbossa's Tale: About the same as above, though the only purpose of writing this one was to do a bit of a character study on Barbossa because he's amazing and is by far the coolest pirate ever and has a sexy laugh (/shameless Barbossa fangirling). This was actually written at the same time as those above (and before any others) Fulfilling Your Destiny: Somewhat of an experiment on my part (playing with second-person narrative), as well as a Vader character study. I consider this to be my first semi-respectable fanfic (and my introduction to the wonderful world of angst). An Unwanted Visitor: More playing. I think I was bored that week or something. Just a fun little fluffy story that let me experiment with the implied dynamics between Owen and Obi-Wan. Nothing I Didn't Deserve: Further experimentation with regret/angst (have I mentioned yet that I quite enjoy writing that?). My first time writing James Norrington, too. He's quite fun. As some people may or may not have noticed, this was actually written about two months before DMC came out. Being the naughty little spoiler hunter that I am, I happened to already know what was going to happen (the title was a line that was originally going to be in the movie), and I'm a terribly impatient person, so I went ahead and wrote the story. I'm quite proud of this one. This is my first fanfic that I still actually really like. For You, I Will: 136 words of remorse, Norrie!angst, romance, poetry, blah blah blah. Quick little poem that I wrote and decided "hey, that's not too bad." No Messy Tears: My baby. This fic is playing with the irresistibly angst-ridden relationship between Will and Bootstrap and is also my first time trying out Bootstrap's PoV. I actually wasn't overly impressed with this one when I wrote it and just put it up because one of my friends was expecting me to do so. Coincidentally, it remains my most popular fanfic. Huh. Goes to show how much I know. I do really like it now; it just took me a while. I'll Not Abandon You: More angst! Good grief, you'd think for someone as ridiculously optimistic as I am, this wouldn't happen so much. But it does, and people seem to like it, so I'm not complaining. It's fun to write, anyway. Another father/son "awww" moment, written entirely around my random mental image of Bootstrap scaring monsters out of Will's closet. The things I do to appease the plot bunnies... Christmas Miracle: This is what happens when I'm awake at 4 a.m. the night (morning) before Christmas Eve and randomly decide "Hey, I should write a cute Christmas story." And then that turned out still being quasi angst, but hey, it was the bunnies' fault. Not so much Will/Bootstrap as Will/(insert mother's name here), but still plays a bit with their unique relationship. You Have To Say It Right: Definitely my longest fanfic title ever, but blame writers for having such an awesome line. Anywho, only fic I've ever written in response to a challenge, though it was just to write something for a pairing other than the main four (Willabeth, Sparrabeth, Norribeth, Dalypso (is that what it's called?)). So the first thing that came to my mind was, obviously, Ragetti/Calypso. It's pretty obvious that they're madly in love, anyway. Kinda. In a weird not-love kind of way. I also really, really like this one. It's probably one of my favorite fanfics that I've written. Works in Progress Adequate: Ahem...So, yeah, this one's been on hiatus for...a while. A long while. As in, almost a year. The terrible irony is, I know exactly what's going to happen, as soon as my muse and my schedule decide to start working together long enough for me to get anything of significance written down. How long that'll be, only the muse knows. I'm currently optimistically looking at Thanksgiving Break as a possibility. Hopefully. Anything before that (or even right around that, really) shall be a pleasant surprise to us all. BUT, just know that I am not abandoning my dear Norribeth, though recommendations/requests for additional inspiration would be much appreciated. Stuff You Might See in the Future Willabeth, rum, Barbossabeth (ooh!), more angst. Not all in one - or are they? Ooh mystery. | |||||||||
