Author has written 11 stories for Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Inuyasha. Welcome to the profile of the Zen Enigma. Okay, maybe I'm not an enigma, but I'm definitely hard to figure out. Hopefully, this profile will help explain the eternal obscurity that is my mind. I'm a dude, which is kind of rare for an Inuyasha fan. I've never understood why. Sango... wow... yes. About Me Name: Ian Age: 18 Location: Canada Good Stuff Stanley Kubric. 2001 was actually a life-changing experience for me. It started me on this whole Zen Enigma thing. Clockwork Orange was almost as good, or possibly better. It was sadistic, violent, but true and somehow oddly beautiful. Sedans. They get a bad reputation as being tools of the overly conventional, but they go fast, they control well, they get good mileage and they are affordable. What's not to love? Alternative Fuels. Good for the environment, good for us all. Plus, they help increase the demand for corn and may screw around with the meat industry. Love it. Vegetarianism. Nothing feels better at the end of the day than being able to say hat you don't contribute to the inhumane and violent raising and slaughter of animals. Also, it's better on the environment and better for world hunger. Canada, as an example, contributes over half of it's corn to feed cattle. Think about what would happen if, instead of using a hundred pounds of corn, soy or wheat to produce ten pounds of beef, we just ate the corn. Ten times more food than before. Al Franken. Exposing the lies and hate spread by some right-wingers, while still being balanced enough to state, "I like conservatives. As people." PeTA. They get stuff done. Keith Olbermann. Funny and intelligent. Bad Things PeTA. Making animal rights activists look like deranged fools for twenty years. Keith Olbermann. He pushes the envelope far too much and frequently goes too far. Meat. See above (tiwce above). And above. And above. And above. 4Kids. Reducing good anime to idiotic children's drivel is not a proud career. Partisanship. Whether it's Ann Coulter proclaiming that all lberals are evil people who seek the destruction of the universe or crazed anime fans demanding the head of a Kikyou fan to stick on a pike to warn the others, deep divides based on opinions generate hate and anger which not only runs over a lot of innocent bystanders, it is not a healthy way to live. Ann Coulter. She's crazy. She's evil. She must be stopped. Fox News. Crazy propaganda station must also be stopped. Good Music This Mortal Coil. Quite potentially the most underrated musical project of all time. Achingly beautiful and at times both melancholy and hopeful. Concrete Blonde. L.A. based semi-punk band that only climbed to the top of the mountain once, with Joey. Still, all their other albums remain essentials in any die-hard rock fan's collection. Their evolution into a mellow, dark desert band only serves to illustrate how versatile they are. Pink Floyd. From Piper at the Gates of Dawn to The Final Cut (but not so much after it), alternative's ambassador to mainstream and some of the best political lyrics in history. Roger Waters. After breaking with Pink Floyd, he carried on the legacy for deep lyrics and dark concepts, though largely unknown to the public. Bob Dylan. Crappy voice, but man that guy can write. Neil Young. See above. The Beatles. The first major band to publicly use drugs, they just kept getting better and better, especially after Revolver. Green Day. Don't dismiss them because they're mainstream. With potent protest lyrics and social commentaries, they do their best to carry on a legacy perfected by Floyd. David Bowie. From the folkie beginnings of Space Oddity to the obscure mostmodern qualities of Reality and beyond, a mainstay of almost forty years. The Who. Quadrophenia was a masterpiece. Can you see the real me, doctor? Bad Music In a definitive sense, there really is no such thing, and don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise. Stuff it's okay to like Professional wrestling. People may stereotype it to death, but in reality all aspects of it are judged purely by opinion. Inuyasha. You can still be a "real anime fan" and enjoy it. Profile Thingies Note: I actually wrote all of these myself. 98 of teenagers do or have tried smoking pot. If you realize this leaves 2 who have no idea what they're talking about, copy and paste this in your profile. 96 of internet statistics are made up. Of the remaining 7, five thirds are misleading and nine radians of them are just plain confusing. If 98 of teenagers have tried pot, why do 99 have it on some form of Internet profile that they haven't.? 98 of the online population has a MySpace. If the only thing this means to you is that 98 of the online population has a MySpace, copy and paste this into your profile. 98 of online statistics are 98 95 of all teenagers would die if Abercrombie and Fitch told them it was uncool to breathe. 4 of all teenagers would die if Abercrombie and Fitch told them it was the coolest thing in the world to breathe. If you laugh more at those guys than you do at the other guys, copy and paste this into your profile. Note: Progress may be slow due to the writing of my novel, The Apathy Club Meeting Has Been Cancelled. Although I am making a special Inuyasha-themed O'Reilly Factor. Just for kicks. | |||||||||||
