Author has written 23 stories for Harry Potter.

Hello -- I'm Piggwidgeon (yes -- I fully realize it's misspelled). My favorite punctuation would have to be the e-dash -- it's mildly amusing. I hope to eventually become an author someday and I know this isn't going to further much of anything. It's something fun to do, something to enhance my already disproportionate geekiness; I hope it'll keep the writing fun, you know?

I guess this also a way to return to my roots. My original stuff I wrote was Pern fanfic thinly disguised. It was the first step in the right direction, I suppose. Some would probably say that I'm cheating at something. I prefer to think of it as watching television. To be honest, I would prefer to practice writing than gazing listlessly at a box.

So long and thanks for all the fish,

Piggwidgeon

Appendix A:

I'm posting my timeline I use for next-gen to try to...avoid...confusion and maybe, if you show up here, answer any questions. I more or less made most of it up, some of it probably won't be kosher with canon and I'm not sure I care.

I write Dominique as a boy because I like it better that way. I mean, Ginny was the first girl born into the Weasley family in generations, and so the Weasley men, should in my twisted theory of genetics, pop out more boys than girls. I'm probably wrong about this, but, again, I don't care. It gives Vicky an excuse to be like an older sister to the others.

Teddy Lupin -- March 24, 1998

Victoire Weasley -- May 2, 1999

Dominique Weasley -- November 15, 2002

James Potter -- May 6, 2004 (written with red hair to make him feel more awkward)

Fred Weasley -- August 2, 2004

Rose Weasley -- February 20, 2005

Albus Potter -- March 25, 2006

Molly Weasley -- June 5, 2006

Hugo Weasley -- August 30, 2007

Lily Potter -- June 13, 2008

Lucy Weasley -- August 6, 2008

Roxanne Weasley -- February 12, 2009

Louis Weasley -- January 15, 2010

Concerning reviews:

I love reviews. I love criticism in my reviews, honest I do. The only thing I have to warn you about is that you probably will not see criticism directly employed into reviewed fic simply because I write more or less the entire thing before posting chap one. Which means, I have chap one posted, but have all the way up to, say, fifteen written, or am writing something completely different. It's...illogical...for me to go back and completely change everything when I'm just doing this for fun anyway. But I do read them, and I do take them to heart.

This method, I assure you, is ultimately for your benefit. By making sure I can finish the fic before beginning to post it, I can promise you a completed fic. (The exception to this rule is My Trunk Broke! because it's all one-shots anyway, so it won't be updated on a regular basis.) I hate being unable to finish posted fics, a pet peeve, if you will, and I hope you won't be angry with me over this.

Also, please be kind and sign in before you review so I can reply to your questions. Otherwise, I can't. And it's annoying. I love your feedback, but if you honestly want to know what I intended something to be about, reviewing anonymously is not going to solve your dilemma.

Appendix C:

For awhile now, I've had distaste concerning the HP epilogue. And I figured out why today. In my stories, I like a short exposition, a long rising action (sometimes even fused with the exposition), quick falling action, and a quick resolution. End it fast and end it smooth. This is how I approach things.

Now, in HP, something else happens. There's a good exposition, a long amount of rising action, a bit more falling action than I wanted, and a quick resolution. But there was something else tacked on the end. The epilogue. Another exposition. The epilogue was not a resolution and did not belong there. It could easily be released with everything else post DH. Sure, it gave the readers a peace of mind that Gin and Harry did, indeed, smooth things over and that Ron and Hermione didn't kill each other, but did anyone really expect anything less?

I'm fully aware this is highly hypocritical considering most of what I write is, indeed, post DH, but from the standpoint of a mildly obsessed teen, I can't stand firm for the epilogue. It just kind of...revved up the engines again without going anywhere. It gave us another exposition where we needed a resolution, or at least time to process the end of DH. I'm done, now.

Appendix D

Anonymous Reveiwers:

Wow. That's all I have to say. One of my stories has been flamed a bit. Can't say I expected that. But, seriously? This is fanfiction. This isn't 1) real life, 2) genuinely published material, or 3) quality work. Please realize that, although I am probably thousands or hundreds of miles away, I am still a human being, and it bothers me when someone tells me and my family should die from shame. For two reasons: 1) why would I be ashamed of something I wrote, and 2) I took time to write a story. You aren't forced to read it. You aren't forced to review. You aren't forced to wait for the page to load or stare at it while you feverishly hit the back button. You CAN exit. If one of my stories upsets you, feel free to say so. Just don't tell me that 1) I'm garbage or 2) I should die. And if you don't like it -- specify why. Please. So I can understand WHERE I went wrong. If it's just that its OC, fine. State that you don't like OC. If it's that its labelled improperly, tell me. If you think the plot is ridiculously implausible, tell me. I want to know. I write fanfic to get better, to stretch my plot and character development muscles, not to keep doing the same things wrong over and over again.

That being said, I'm not disabling anonymous reviews for three reasons; 1) I'm for full freedom of the press, 2) other people deserve to know the full scope of the reactions of my stories, and 3) I've gotten at least one anonymous review that's been extremely helpful and that definitely outweighs the bad.

I'm just calling for civility. Maybe I've just outgrown this site. I don't know, but that definitely seems to be a possiblity.
