Greetings and salutations fellow fanfic fans :) Wow, that sounded geeky, but hey, I am something of a geek so I suppose it's only natural that it would (that explains that.)
Before anything else I just want to say that there's a bit of cursing bellow so don't read if you offend easily and i'm now set up to take anonymous reviews so please, feel free to leave one, but try to be nice.
REALLY BASIC STUFF:
Allow me to tell you a little about myself, My name is Bree, i'm 18 and currently reside in the Great White North, Vancouver to be exact, (it's a bit like Amsterdam only colder.) My two pen-names, when I choose for whatever reason not to go under "Bree" are Sayhla, (fellow geeks out there may recognize this as a Star Trek reference) And ZombieQueen17. I also have some fanart up at deviantart under the name IllMakeYouEatGlass, just in case anybody wants to check it out.
FANDOMS: I've mostly only written in two fandoms, Oz, primarily Alvarez/Torquemada though there have been a few exceptions, and Carnivale, Justin/Iris. Fandoms I also really enjoy reading however, and by all likely hood will make an attempt at some point when i'm bored are Big Wolf on Campus (hey, shut up, i'm young, I can still like that show for a few more years) Star Trek:TOS, The Mummy, That 70's Show, and Lord of the Flies. I know there's more but I can't remember them at this point. I'm a slash addict, I don't know why, but I have been since I was about 12 or 13. It's a rare occurence that i'll write or read het but it does happen from time to time.
FAVORITE MOVIES: I'm a big fan of cheesy cult films such as Revenge of the Mole people and The Toxic Avenger, in fact anything by Ed Wood or Trauma Films I usually enjoy. I like Horror movies but usually the older ones, The Shining, The first few Halloween's and Friday the 13th's. My favorite movie killer of all time is Jason Vorhees, that guy just kicks ass, that's all I can say. I prefer my horror flicks moody and suspensful rather than gore flled and moronic, maybe i'm just a wuss or something ::shrugs:: Some of my favorite movies of all time are The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Mars Attacks, Brazil, Young Frankenstein and the South Park Movie. I also love anything by Tim Burton, that guy's a god.
FAVORITE SHOWS: I'm a huge fan of Cartoons, so a lot of my favorite shows happen to be animated. Though I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE Anime/Manga. I'm sorry, some of the proper Asian Artwork is quite nice but all this American made bullshit just annoys the hell out of me, IT ALL LOOKS THE SAME, DAMMIT::ahem: moving right along. Some of my favorite animated shows are Futurama, Simpsons, South park, Harvey Birdman :attorney at law, King of the Hill, Family Guy, the Venture Bros. and American Dad. I'm also a big fan of Red Dwarf and Law & Order: SVU, mostly due to the wonderful and gorgeous Christopher Meloni who carried my obsession with him over from OZ. Though Richard Belzer kicks ass too.
FAVORITE BOOKS: I'm a big fan of horror novels, though again I prefer the classical stuff, Dracula, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, The Island of Doctor Morose and things of that nature. I love Of Mice and Men, To kill A Mockingbird and anything by Oscar Wilde. I'm also a big fan of Gore Vidal (apparently I really like sarcastic gay men as authors :) ) and I'm still hugely in love with the works of Roald Dahl.
FAVORITE MUSCICIANS/BANDS: Big fan of The Ramones, The Beatles, The Tragically Hip (woo, canadiana), Nirvana and the White Stripes plus a lot of other stuff. My tastes in Music are pretty varied though generally I don't like pop or country. I also really enjoy Classical Music, especially Bach.
OTHER STUFF ABOUT ME: This is stuff that didn't fit into other categories, stuff I like, stuff I dislike, ect. I'm a Comic Kid, which essentially means I spend a shitload more money on comic books than any normal person should. It also means I actualy read the books, not just buy them and lock them away as collectors items, I hate those people. I'm an Art Student, most of my free time is spent, if not reading, Drawing, painting or sculpting. I'm 5'4, female, with Auburn hair naturally though I dye it black, my eyes are green, i'm fairly pale and I wear Square black framed glasses, because I like them and they suit me, not because they got so suddenly popular with the emo kids and the suicidegirls and whatnot. Think Enid from Ghostworld, i'm quite a bit like her, both in appearance and personality. I'm sarcastic and I tend to be a bit cynical but I really care about my freinds and family and wouldn't say i'm a bitch or anything, I hurt and criticise because I love :) I hate people who's entire image and personality is based on what's fashionable at the time. You know the type, one minute she's blonde in a baby-t, next week she's Ghetto fabulous and trying desperatly to convince people that she understands things from the rappers point of view. Just using girls as an example here, there's a lot of guys who piss me off by doing pretty much the exact same thing, idiocy knows no gender. Wiggers piss me off beyond belief, pathetic little 15 year old suburbanite white boys in ill fitting pants bitching about oppresion and the "man" keeping them down. I just want to grab them and go "You're not black! There's nothing about you that's black! Your not a quarter black, or an eighth black or a tenth black on your fathers side or a black albino or anything like that! You're white! You're whiter than I am!" Jesus, I complelty understand that embracing and accepting other culture's is a good thing and should be widely encouraged but walking around as some thug stereotpe isn't going to help anybody. I hate homophobes/homophobia and how so much of it has worked itself into out everyday culture, the next little nine year old I see say that something Stupid is "gay" i'm going to pop in the mouth, I swear to god :( . I also really detest excessively bad grammer and people who use abhorent amount of slang or AOL speak, message to all those little bastards: i H8T U, sCrW Of! Despite how I probably sound, what with the ranting and all, i'm essentially a pretty nice person and i'll like you unless you give me a good reason not to.
M'kay, I think that's enough heavy stuff for today :) I'm french on my dad's side (I speak and read it fluently) and Irish/Scott on my mom's side and I love tattoo's and piercings, I don't have many yet myself and I think they've got to be right for the person and you shouldn't just pick some random stupid thing that you'll regret later but still I think they're pretty cool. That's about all I've got to say right now, I don't want to make my profile super long and it's already getting there so i'll say my goodbye's now, live long and prosper, cheers, peace, ciao and all that good stuff :)
