I’m Omnicat, a Dutch, female Virgo from 1989. English is not my native language, so I’d appreciate a head’s up in case of any screw-ups. (Ook in het Nederlands natuurlijk! Van al dat Engels wordt mijn moerstaal roestig.) I am horrible about keeping in touch, so if you ever not hear back from me, it’s not you, seriously, it’s me; I probably just got distracted by a shiny string of thought and forgot what I was trying to do.

Don’t be intimidated by my story count! As I have made a habit of translating every story I write for this site, my story list contains two versions of every fic: one English, one Dutch. Thus, that spiffy, oh-so-long-looking list down there actually only contains half the amount of stories it says at the top. It might also be useful to sort my stories on Category, as I write for a lot of fandoms at the same time. I try never to post a multichapter story before it’s finished, to avoid annoyance due to abandoned fics. I hate it when authors abandon their stories halfway through, and am trying to spare any fans (anyone?) that fate. Since FanFiction.Net has certain restrictions on story ratings, all my smut will be crossposted to my account on AdultFanFiction, which can be found through the ‘Homepage’ link above. There you can find the milder smut that is also found here, several uncut versions of fics that are available in a toned down version here (clearly marked as such), and fics that would have no point left if I had to cut them down to fit FanFiction.Net’s ratings. If you catch my drift. ;)

When not struck with random bouts of obsession, I nurture a lasting fascination for such characters as Relena Darlian-Peacecraft, Heero Yuy and Middie Une (is it strange to obsess so much over a one-shot character? Ah, well...) from Gundam Wing; the ‘Lost Generation’, i.e. James and Sirius and Remus, Lily and Petunia, Peter and Snape and Regulus, and also Tonks, from Harry Potter; Takako/Fenrir and Sasame from Prétear; Pai and Amber from Darker Than Black; Jet and his Freedom Fighters, from Avatar: the Last Airbender; and Ryoga Hibiki of Ranma½ infamy. My-HiME/Otome fandom, you wound me. Why must everything you produce always be about Shizuru and Natsuki? Their Otome incarnations are quite tasty, don’t get me wrong, but does no-one see the cuteness of Chie x Aoi or the delicious genderfuck that is Akira x Takumi? You make me pout, fandom, pout I say.

My original fiction preferences range from fantasy books to science-fiction anime, with a lot of random stuff in between (I didn’t call myself Omnicat for nothing!). I like epics, trilogies, and long seasons with strong overarching storylines. As far as fanfiction is concerned, my main interests are one-shot character exploration and missing scenes, multichapter AUs (change this part of the book, stop that episode from happening, see where the rest of the story goes from there!), crossovers (my very first love), and ‘obscure’ characters and pairings. Plot is very important to me in original fiction and fanfiction multichapters, but not so much in fanfiction one-shots: sometimes I just like to tell 1500-word jokes or elaborate on stray musings without having to bother with all the rest of the storywriting business. I treat original fiction and fanfiction as two very different things, so my expectations and goals for each differ greatly. Being a bordering-on-obsessive fan of something makes all the difference. x3

ATTENTION ALL AUTHORS!

I have written several fics featuring couples that are considered ALTERNATIVE, and are highly under-represented. You can’t turn you butt without finding HEERO X DUO or TROWA X QUATRE fics, and that’s just fine, but that’s all there seems to be. There is nothing else! It’s getting boring. It thus entered my disastrous mind to write a whole series of fics with alternative pairings, but I am only one writer, with limited time and imagination at her disposal.

HEREBY, I CALL UPON EVERY AUTHOR TO WRITE AN ALTERNATIVE PAIRING FIC!

OMNIPAIRINGS CHALLENGE (Harry Potter)

A question to all HP shippers: has anyone ever shipped a portrait? Or a House-Elf? An owl? A cat? A centaur? Merpeople? Transformed Animagi? Inferi?!

I dare you to:

SHIP ONE OR MORE CHARACTERS THAT ARE NOT HUMAN
so; neither witch/wizard nor muggle.

This means: no werewolves and Animagi in their human form, but yes werewolves and Animagi in their transformed state. No living wizards and witches, but yes wizards and witches in portraits, Famous Wizards and Witches Cards, and, of course, ghosts. Pets, monsters, House-Elves, you name it. As long as at least one of the shipped characters is not human, anything else goes.

- Primary genre must be romance, secondary genre is optional;
- Any length is allowed, from drabbles to novel-length fics (anyone crazy enough for that?);
- All ratings go;
- Hetero, Slash, Femmeslash, Polygamy, Crossbreeding and such are all allowed. Just make sure you warn people of possible squick!factors;
- Only use creatures/beings mentioned in the books. If you use one of Rowling’s creatures that haven’t featured in the books but are in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them or other canon sources, make sure you pair it up with one that has been mentioned in PS, CoS, PoA, GoF, OotP, HBP and/or DH.

Because many of the characters used can’t be found by using the character list, make sure you sign your responses with ‘omnipairing(s)’ or ‘omniship(s)’ in the summary, so it can be easily found back in the search engine.
