Author has written 11 stories for X-Men, X-Men: Evolution, and Hunger Games. Who said that engineers can't write? "Why do you write fanfiction?" I was idly proofreading an one-shot story for the third time when my friend asked me. "Why do you write fanfiction?" Why, I repeated to myself. It makes my nights shorter and my days restless sometimes. I don't get any money from it. So ... Why? Why do I write fanfiction? Not for the reviews; not for the bookmarks or fun comments; not for the amazing people I end up being friends with. My friend was still staring at me, obviously waiting for an answer. You should never lie to a best friend, so I offered him the simple truth: "It just doesn't get out of my head. And helps me through boring days and sleepless nights." I flinched when I realized that fanfiction sounded like an one-night stand. I didn't think that was right ... He seemed satisfied though, shrugging in reply. But you can't lie to a best friend. "And ..." I started again, meeting my shy eyes with him. "I love it." Yeah; that's why. I love it. I'm up to challenges and prompts.
