Author has written 13 stories for X-Men: Evolution, X-Men: The Movie, X-Men, Wolverine & the X-Men, Sherlock, Lord of the Rings, and Once Upon a Time.

Hi! Again, sorry I haven't been on for awhile. I have been working on a few novels of my own, and really scrutinizing both Treadmill and Collide and taking a look at how they can improve. I'll finish all fics/series I haven't yet, though it may take awhile. Collide and Treadmill are first priorities.

Some things I think about when I write:

1. Jane Austen is a perfect model to follow when trying to create heroes and heroines. Her heroines are far from perfect and deeply flawed, but throughout the story, they grow and they change. Characters should always grow and change in a story. We grow, change, and learn things as we live our lives, so it's only one more thing that can make a character more realistic and easier for a reader to relate to.

2. Grammar is extremely important, as it affects the way in which the story is read. The same with spelling. Someone might have a great story idea, but if it cannot be communicated effectively, the entire story is lost on the reader. The Purdue OWL writing lab is an excellent resource for a writer who isn't sure about something. Here is the link: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/1/5/.

3. Stories are living, breathing documents. They can always be changed, tweaked, and rewritten. Even when editing, you're not always going to catch all of the errors, be they grammatical or mechanical, or issues with plotline, characterization, and exposition. Always have someone else look at it. A good reader/reviewer will point this out to you without completely eviscerating you and will also be honest with you.

4. A heroine--my heroines, at least--will have agency and will make their own decisions to help move the story along. A heroine should never make apologies for wanting to be independent. A heroine should never make apologies for being strong and standing on her own two feet and wanting to be with someone who can respect that and treat her as an equal. A heroine should never make any apologies for speaking her mind. A heroine should never make any apologies for not only wanting to be cared for and protected, but also caring for and protecting those around her. And lastly, to paraphrase a favorite author of mine, a heroine should never make any apologies for kicking some serious butt now and then.

Right now, my biggest inspirations are BBC's The Way We Live Now, Desperate Romantics, Wallander, and Whitechapel, and Tana French's books. I love Jane Austen, Edith Wharton, Rosalind Milles, and Libba Bray, and I love to read biographies and historical fiction, too. Right now, I'm a huge fan of Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Sherlock, and Supernatural, Game of Thrones, and Downton Abbey, and I loved The Tudors to its very end. I love Rihanna, One Republic, Maroon 5, Bat for Lashes, A Fine Frenzy, and Florence and the Machine right now.

Some of my favorite quotes:

"All changes pass me like a dream,

I neither sing nor pray;

And thou art like the poisonous tree

That stole my life away."

-Elizabeth Siddal, from her poem "Love and Hate"

"We don't have a love affair! We've an argument punctuated by sex!"-Gabriel to Lizzie in "Desperate Romantics"

King Henry VIII: If some young man wrote this song for you, Anne, what would you say to him?
Anne: I would ask him if his wife liked it, Your Grace.

-from "Anne of the Thousand Days"

Anne: For six years, this year, and this, and this, and this, I did not love him. And then I did. Then I was his. I can count the days I was his in hundreds. The days we bedded. Married. Were Happy. Bore Elizabeth. Hated. Lusted. Bore a dead child... which condemned me... to death. In all one thousand days. Just a thousand. Strange. And of those thousand, one when we were both in love, only one, when our loves met and overlapped and were both mine and his. And when I no longer hated him, he began to hate me. Except for that one day.

-from "Anne of the Thousand Days"

Anne: Doesn't do that well. Not as well as I've known it done. But it's the one arm I want- for some God-knows-what reason. You do everything badly- everything awkwardly- and I love it the way you do it.

-from "Anne of the Thousand Days"
