I'm not a student any more, but still love to study: Psychology, Anthropology, Criminology, etc. Basically, it's all about the "why" for me. There's nothing quite as rewarding for me as getting inside a character's mind and picking apart their feelings and motivations. Perhaps for this reason, I write a lot of angst, hurt/comfort, and friendship fics. Few better vehicles for getting into a character's head, and I find little that's more rewarding.

On a personal note (like anyone cares), I'm in my late twenties, a pagan and practicing witch (no flames or attempts to save my soul, please), until 27 March 2009 a full-time caregiver for a terminally ill relative (now back on the job-market after three YEARS out of the saddle), and an avid watcher (and writer) of science fiction and fantasy. I have Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Anthropology (specialization in archaeology), and an Associate's in Medical Assisting. I'm considering eventually going back to school, either for a new degree in teaching or to continue my studies in Anth/Arch or Psych. I'd love to eventually become one of those bookish types who's a fixture at the local university where they seem to have studied everything and is known to everyone as brilliant but eccentric (okay, so brilliant may be a bit of a stretch, but I have it on good authority from my friends that "eccentric" is a tad of an understatement).

I LOVE writing, and the longer a story I write is, the happier I am, even if the characters do occasionally get away from me and decide to write the stories for themselves. :) Of course, when the characters aren't playing mind-games with me, the muses are (and sometimes they aren't even MY muses but those of a friend -- Kameka, m'dear, I love you with all my heart, but being your friend sometimes SUX. Despite, that, QUACK. Really, just quack...). I write fanfic and am also working on an original story that I hope to have published one of these days. But that's rather slow going as the subject-matter is difficult and I keep on running facefirst into emotional brick walls that lead to long spurts of writer's block. Fanfiction keeps me sane in the meantime. :)

I always try to reply to people who leave reviews for me, but, RL being what it is (ie, a royal pain in the hind-quarters that enjoys kicking people while they're down, lol), that's not always possible. If you DO want to get in touch with me, feel free to e-mail and I definitely will respond. Oh, yes, and, like many fanfic authors, I am shamelessly addicted to feedback. In fact, good or bad, I thrive on it in much the same way that most people thrive on food, so feel free to feed me. Please? PRETTY please? Would it help if I begged? Seriously, I especially want to know if you hate it (WHY you hate it would be especially helpful, 'cause that's how you get better).
