I, Argentus, do solemnly swear to review all the fics I enjoy, regardless of the number of reviews, age of the fic, or anything else.
I have joined the Review Revolution. Post this in your profile and spread the love: 3
Name: Argentus on this site; Kusari Yarou in the Cloud/Aerith forums; AnakinSolo in the imdb forums. And...those are the only names you'll get out of me. :grins:
Location: Philippines
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Status: College student struggling to keep the writer's verve alive.
Pet Fandoms: Chronicles of Narnia- I particularly adore Edmund Pevensie, having had a love affair with him since the age of nine. Har! And my writing is currently geared towards Eustace Clarence Scrubb and Jill Pole, because I honestly love them, and because I feel they are quite unsung heroes at the moment.
Final Fantasy VIII- though the game's story was lackluster(and I'm not too fond of Rinoa, ugh); this fandom has spun so much gold out of something that is usually considered the worst FF game. I think that's really something.
Final Fantasy VII- for the lovely tragic Cleris, mostly. There is nothing like an dark, angsty Cloud/Aeris fic. Everything I could hope for in dark romance.
Harry Potter- I don't like wading through the raging ocean of this archive on ef-ef dot net...lots of unpleasant surprises, y'know? The fandom has gotten so batty, that I merely live off fic recommendations at The Sugar Quill. My motto is, I'll stick to my side of the fandom. Because you know how it gets.
Current Favorite Fandom: Newsies. My gosh, what a fandom this is. I have adored this movie for years, but I only discovered it's fandom a few months ago! Only place where I've found highschool/college fics not only to be good, but brilliant. But...I'm probably the only Newsies slash fan who doesn't like Jack/David. Heh. There's just something about Christian Bale that I think is unslash-able. I also like Blink/Mush, but I can see them more as buddies. Spot/Racetrack, though...absolute love. The angst! The snark! The sexiness:insert fangirl icon here:
That being said, I read way too many books and watch way too much anime, and harbor so much love for certain RPG characters that I pop up here and there..I never know what fic I'm going to read/review next
Ficcly speaking...
I am fond of reading character studies, AU's or first-person POV
- I love unusual writing styles, like second person POV, or kooky, slangy prose that when strung together, end up sounding like art
-I like to be elaborate in my reviews, so if I give, say, a long review for your simple drabble, don't be surprised! On very rare occasions will I leave a review of the "Zomgwritemore" sort :p
-I like getting reviews, they make my day! First, because I continuously want my writing to improve and second, because I love meeting other people who share my interests and agree with me on this-and-that part of the story(that is, the original source)
-I am quite happy when I find: a)well written slash or b) tastefully written sex. As to a)... No, I'll not squee over a slash fic just 'cos it has two pretty boys doffing. Come on. Sure, chemistry is important, but I'd like a little love please? And as to b)... I do not like being regaled with descriptions of "his throbbing rod of love" :winces: Please spare me, or fade to black if you must!
