I'm a banker by trade, though I want to write professionally. I live in North Carolina. I majored in American and Military History in college. Since alot of people here at least seem to be female, I guess I should mention that I'm a guy. Not that it really matters, I suppose.
I am 31-years-old with this edition of my profile. I've been a sci-fi fan since before I can remember...probably due to seeing Star Wars at a very young age. As an example of what I mean by "young age," I saw Star Wars at a drive-in. I know...I'm old. (A few years ago, I realized that I probably saw the 1980 re-release at that drive-in, since I was only a year old when it came out for the first time in 1977...). But I digress.
I was a huge West Wing, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica (both series) and Babylon 5 fan. Currently, my only TV must-sees are Supernatural, Boston Legal, Family Guy, and Bones.
I've enjoyed reading others' work here as much as I've enjoyed contributing my own work. I've "met" some great (and truly helpful) people on this site, and my work has only gotten better because of them. I have also found that reviews are addictive. They don't tell you that when you register... Once you start getting them, you start living for them.
I'm a member of Faye Dartmouth and gemini grl11's SFTCOL(AR)S group. Those women and the other members are great writers and I'm proud to interact and share ideas with them. See Faye's profile for details on the group.
A story of mine was recently printed in the Supernatural fanzine "The Brotherhood 2," which published May 25th. I've reposted the story here, but you should pick up the book if possible, it's really quite good!
For Supernatural fans, I have gotten drawn into writing a series of AU stories that build off each other, starting in the season one finale and proceeding from there...never thought that would happen. While I try to keep each one self-contained, I wanted to provide this guide to the timeline. You don't have to read them in this order, but it helps:
In the Pursqueeter - Complete
That Old Black Magic - Complete
Truth and Consequences - Complete.
Purgatory - planned - a prequel to "In the Pursqueeter," detailing the six or seven weeks between Devil's Trap and the start of the orginal story. This one's a gift for a fellow writer who likes missing scenes.
Feel free to drop me a message if you have a comment, question, praise, scorn, or anything else. I'm open to criticism...after all, that's part of the reason we're all here, right?
Cheers!
