I figured I'd write a few lines about myself for those who are curious.
I'm a 22 year old woman who lives in Kentucky. I'm married to the guy whose screenname on this site is "xasonnex" (hence my screenname: "wifeofxasonnex"--who needs originality, right?). He's responsible for me even trying my hand at writing fan fiction. Before this past June, I had written fan fiction in my head (it occupies my mind when I can't sleep), but I had never once put anything down on the page--turns out it's pretty fun and addictive.
In my teenage years, my fan fiction was all about "The Mighty Ducks" (the movie, not the cartoon) and "The X-Files." I could probably pull my old ideas for the "Ducks" out of the cobweb-infested corners of my brain and type them out, but it turns out that what I was planning on happening on 'The X-Files" actually ended up happening in the show. That whole part about Scully wanting to use her preserved ova to try to have a child and asking Mulder to be the father--I wrote that four years before it happened on the show (of course if my fifteen-year-old self could do that, then Chris Carter and his bunch probably had the idea earlier).
Now I mostly write fan fiction about "CSI." I focus so much on Nick and Sara because they are the only characters that really have any, well, character to them. The other characters are kind of one-dimensional (in my lowly opinion--I'm sure I've made some people very angry by that comment).
I'm a big advocate for writing stories out longhand and then typing them. That is the reason why some of my updates take so long (especially if I don't have several chapters written out ahead of time). I proofread my work at least six times before I post it because I want to give everyone quality work to read. A few errant typos and tense shifts may slip under the radar, but you must forgive me because I know what I intended to write and so I read it that way despite what the page may say.
I may write more on this page later, but four years of term papers have given me a computer allergy, I think. I can never spend too much time in front of a computer (especially if I'm typing)--another reason why some updates take a long time to be posted.
