So, you demand solid facts. Unless you are a philosopher with a silly name, in which case you a) Are a Douglas Adams character (yay!) and b) Demand a total absence of solid facts. In which case I'll have to puree them and feed them to you with a spoon, which is not dignified.
Me, by me.
Name: Isabella. Yes.
Age: Seventeen. Which means I'm old enough to drive. Which is very disturbing, as anyone who has ever seen me try to do something remotely co-ordinated will attest.
Location: England. This accounts for my spellings - we've got a surplus of 'u's here in Britain, it's my duty to Queen and country to use some of them up - and for my sense of humour.
TV: Ugly Betty (Henry, please), My Family, Doctor Who, Fawlty Towers ("I know naaaahthing!"), Whose Line is it Anyway?, Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week, New Tricks ("You shoot one bloody dog...").
Books: Jane Eyre (Mr Rochester = LOVE), Pride and Prejudice (Darcy = LOVE), Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy (British humour = LOVE), the works of Jasper Fforde (just LOVE).
Films: BatB (duh), 10 Things I Hate About You (not my usual style, but actually very funny and sweet), The Princess Bride, Edward Scissorhands, most films with a kind of fairytale atmosphere and nice dresses, like Ella Enchanted, Ever After, Brothers Grimm, Willow and so on. And The Importance of Being Earnest (with Colin Firth), because Oscar Wilde is up there with Douglas Adams in the 'witty dead genius' stakes.
Music: Disney, showtunes, Mika, Alanis Morrisette, Billy Joel, Elton John
Musicals: BatB, Wicked (which I am proud to say I have now actually seen, and with the lovely Moonlight Enchantments. Toss, toss!), Avenue Q, Phantom of the Opera, The Producers ("He's having a stroke!" "What?" "--Of GENIUS!!"), Spamalot
My Stories:
This has been getting a little convoluted of late, so here's a simple guide to what the deal is with the interconnection of my stories. Anything I don't mention doesn't need explaining :P
Fairytales:
Not Becoming and Embers, despite both being BatB-based, have nothing to do with each other and are not part of any retellings. They're just POV ramblings from Beauty and Beast respectively.
Perspectives is where the trouble starts. This combines three of my BatB retelling ideas (I can't explain how, you might as well just go and look at it, it's short). Since then, I have written oneshots about two of those three ideas. They are Caroline and Cora. However, Caroline is the same story as True Colours, the difference being that Caroline is shorter and finished, lol.
NEW: The Beholder is the same story as Cora. But longer.
Not Becoming, A One Day Bargain and Dawn Princess have, in a previous incarnation, been grouped together as a mini-series, since they're all POV ramblings from fairytale heroines. Ditto Embers and Burning, except that those were hero-centric.
Beauty and the Beast (Disney):
All you need to know here is that anything that I add (e.g. backstory) to canon in one story is not necessarily carried over to another. I decided in Dropping Eaves that Beast wasn't the crown prince i.e. actual heir to the throne, but the son of a king's second son, and therefore no better than third in line. For the benefit of those living in countries without a monarchy: there are a LOT of royals milling around, most of whom wouldn't get the crown even if they took lessons from Macbeth and no one's ever heard of them. However, to get back on track - this is not the case in my earlier BatB stories, where the Beast has simply been the son of a king and queen. Similarly, I wrote a fic where Gaston survived but in the Christmas one he's dead. While I respect those who create and stick to their own fanon, I'm just too lazy, really. Plus, half the stuff I've posted here surprises ME when I re-read it, so I'd have trouble trying to stick to one story. I got to the end of Dropping Eaves unable to remember what happened in the middle. I hope this isn't true of my readers.
1/12/07: The Christmas stories are getting complicated. Basically, The One Thing We're Looking For (2006) takes place a year after the film "The Enchanted Christmas" (though you only need to have seen the original BatB to follow it). Hypothetical is a one-shot that takes place just before the 2007 story A Cut Above The Rest, which takes place the year after The One Thing We're Looking For. So it's all nice and simple. :cough:
