Author has written 43 stories for Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Doctor Who, StarTrek: The Original Series, StarTrek: The Next Generation, Firefly, and Andromeda. Updated Profile (9/2/09) (Avatar- I found this online, I did not make it. So there. You can't sue me now.) It has come to our attention that you may require some information about the Author occasionally known as Solo by Choice. Solo by Choice is a mysterious being who...is doing a crap job writing her new profile, obviously! VITAL STATISTICS (like, in case you find my dried up brain shivering in the corner of some exceptionally bad shipper fic): Name: Solo by Choice (also answers to Arta, Vera, Hey You, eventhorizon42, Doctor Tam, and JansonKlivian-4-pres (which she freely admits is a terrible name but deviant art won't let her change it to something cooler like Five Minutes to Belgium!)) Age: This is debatable. It fully depends on when you run into her and where and hold old she feels. To quote one Tom Baker: "Sometimes I think I'm 759 and sometimes I think I'm about 42 and sometimes I think I'm 11." This pretty much holds true for Solo, except that she has never really felt 11, more like 19. Or 4. Sex: No thank you. Um, I mean, Solo is female. Kind of unfortunate, except that she does admit that it's nice to be allowed to hit on guys that way. If she actually did hit on guys, that is. She thinks it would be cool to convince you all she's a guy, but it's a little late for that. Height/Weight/all that good stuff: No, I'm not sure what I meant by that. Solo is short. Or, at least, she feels short when walking in a crowd. In actuality, she is probably of average height, around 5'5" ish or just below. As far as weight, Solo has recently discovered that she needs to gain 6.5 lbs to be normal. So she just won't because she likes being underweight, apparently. Good stuff. There isn't much. Interpret that how you will. Other Information: While Solo was recently a rabid Star Wars geek, she has become very enamored since June of a certain TV show called Doctor Who. Hence, the avatar. Hence the fact that she has pretty much ditched this place for Teaspoon and an Open Mind. Hence the quoting of Tom Baker. Some Details About Solo's Preferences When It Comes to the Good Doctor: Favorite Doctor: VERY HARD QUESTION to answer. Solo likes...them all?? Well, she has to pick Doctors two, six and four as her favorites...although two may be pulling ahead...but, no, four is rallying...ah ah two is in the lead again... Favorite Companion: Again, with the impossible questions! Jamie McCrimmon, Sarah Jane Smith, and Liz Shaw vie for first place. Or would if they cared at all. And are joined by Romana because she is superb. And, you know, the rest of them too. I love them all, okay! Stop making me choose between my children! Favorite Serial/Story: Um... Solo's not too sure. She really liked Inferno and the whole Key to Time series and Spearhead in Space and she's sure that if The Highlanders still existed she would like that too. Also Pyramid of Mars was basically perfect in every possible way. And anything with Patrick Troughton. Anything at all. Solo's Preferences When It Comes to Pairings In Various Fandoms: Doctor Who Doctor/Romana Liz/Brigadier Jamie/Victoria (although it's kind of one sided) Adric/Nyssa (Solo has never read this, nor would she write it, but watching Logopolis clinched this pairing in her mind) And the Big Question of the Day: Does Solo pair Two/Jamie? Solo isn't sure herself. It would be the first slash pairing she has ever supported and she has a Really Hard Time imagining most of the stuff people write about these two, but she does like to keep in mind the fact that the first T/J shippers were a couple of guys called Frazier Hines and Patrick Troughton... Star Wars Han/Leia Luke/Mara Wedge/Iella Wes/Shalla Hobbie/Inyri (Solo fells horrible because she's sure she spelled that wrong, which means that her Rogue Squadron luff is really going down hill) D: Harry Potter Solo pairs the pairings in the book. So no Remus/Sirius, but yes Remus/Tonks. Also she likes to ignore JKR's Weasley family trees from the website. It should be Percy/Penny, George/Alicia (or George/Katie), Charlie/SOMEBODY (Solo has invented him a woman named Sami who is sometimes American and sometimes Romanian, she's not sure yet)... Ginny/Neville is also acceptable. And Neville/Hannah is just freakin cute. Other Things That Solo Really Likes: puns (ex You may be a doctor, but I am the Doctor. The definite article, you might say.), eccentricity, lemon zest, and biology. And other stuff, but let's keep this list short. Speaking of biology. In that horrid, smelly place called RL, Solo is a college student majoring in Bio and Math. She is currently living (at college, duh) in NE Iowa, the not-most-interesting place ever. Except Nebraska is worse. Oh, look, wheat. D: Besides occasionally studying for class, Solo plays the trumpet (aka the Best Instrument In The Band And Don't You Argue), works in the caf (and would like to point our that Hot Line is from Hell), talks about geeky stuff with her little sister for hours, and reads stuff on Teaspoon and an Open Mind. Also she draws. Solo will now shut up.
