Author has written 2 stories for Phantom of the Opera. Greetings. I suppose I should first inform you (enlighten you, warn you, call it what you like) that I have an intense obsession with the Phantom of the Opera. I was in fourth grade when I first was introduced to the Broadway soundtrack with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman. I was haunted (imagine a fourth-grader haunted) by the music, but I didn't understand the story and I actually thought the Phantom was a ghost. I never put the songs together and made sense of them. I knew that the Phantom was over-protective of Christine, but I never realized it was a love story, and it seemed natural to me that Raoul was the hero. Needless to say, when the 2004 movie came out, I was mildly interested in seeing it until my mother came home with red eyes and an expression of wonder. Her words: "Sarah, you have to see this movie. You will fall in love with the Phantom." I looked forward to it then, and when I finally did, I was completely stunned. From the magnificent explosion of color as the chandelier was lifted, I was trembling, thinking, "I remember this music! I can't believe I'm sitting in a movie theater that has made a movie out of this music." And then the Phantom--and then the love story--and then the tears, which shocked me, because I never cry in movies. And then my obsession. I saw it ten times in theaters and have since seen almost every movie Gerard Butler has ever made. I'm in love with him, you see. Now I feel as if I've terribly underrated my love for the Phantom with this disastrously tame overview. If you all only knew how obsessed I was LOL ...I saw it first in February, and to this day, I haven't been able to sing anything since. I have gone through a magnificent number of fanfics about Erik, and I will warn you now: I don't put up with E/OC or any pairing other than Christine. I'm :willing: to consider reading an Erik/Madame Giry pairing...if there is one out there, please let me know. Other than Phantom (which for some reason, doesn't feel like much), I'm in love with The Lion King, The Lord of the Rings, and StarWars...I adore villains and seldom love heroes as much...and as far as Archie comics go, Betty should ditch Archie and go out with Jughead. I certainly would. | |||||||||
