Author has written 14 stories for Harry Potter, Labyrinth, Shakespeare, and Chronicles of Narnia. Hullo, all. Well, I'm back in Florida again, and working to feed my addiction (books). I'm also finishing up my bachelor in prep for applying to grad school. Eep! Too bad I can't put the fics towards my MFA in Creative Writing, that would be wunderbar. I write mostly Harry Potter, with a smattering of Labyrinth, and have more fics planned out than I have time to write. weeps into a hanky BUT! I'm convinced that one day they will all be written, and I'm trying very hard not to keep a bunch of WIPS posted up. I'm trying to focus on one at a time, and now that I've had a bit of space to finish some other things out, I should actually be following my rule from now on. Wish me luck! A few months ago, I submitted my original novel to a publisher, and we're moving into the time when I should be hearing something back. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please! Becoming a published author has been a lifelong dream of mine, and for the next few months, I'll be biting my nails to the quick, I'm sure. I should also probably add that I'm a review whore. I'm shamelessly addicted and they massively feed the muse, so PLEASE drop a review. If you like it, love it, can't live without it, tell me! If you didn't like it or weren't impressed, tell me! And most importantly, tell me why, that way I can either keep doing it or try to fix it. I believe very firmly in an author's responsibility to his or her readers, and I like to know what kind of job I'm doing in living up to that. Enjoy the ride. Bises- ~~Dutchy~~ aka Scion of Kushiel NOCTURNE (Harry Potter WIP) 31 March 08- Well, having settled back in Florida to the point that I can actually start writing again (I've never been able to write when things feel up in the air, my thoughts are too scattered to work out on paper), I am! Chapters 14 (Rubicon) and 15 (Helen's Daughter) are both posted, here and on Ashwinder. Chapter 16 (Morrigan's Call) is now underway, but I had to get an unrelated plot bunny out of my head first. I have a couple of tests this week, so I don't know if it'll be up by the end of the week, but not much later than that, I hope. In this chapter, we take a brief trip around the world (and it doesn't take 80 days), and check up on the progress of some of the others. OH! And Nocturne has been nominated in the Quill to Parchment Awards (Round 3) for Best Dark!Fic. Thank you all! WHERE THE BREEZES KNOW MY NAME (Harry Potter Complete One-Shot) 31 March 08- This was the unrelated plot bunny that was distracting me from Nocturne. It mostly follows canon, right up until the end of DH, which is where it deviates. Hermione and Severus, lying in separate places, are both dying. What does the soul do as the body is dying? It's not particulary dark, but it received a lot of its inspiration from the amazing stories of the wonderful Araidne AWS, author of A Walking Shadow and No Loyalty in Moonlight. Her lyrical, poetic style has a way of staying in my head, and while I cannot even hope to emulate that grace, it tended to pervade my brain during the writing of this story.
