I am a twenty-one year old male of Vietnamese origin living in the Netherlands, and attend a university. I have always been an avid reader of fanfiction, in particular those about Neon Genesis Evangelion. The anime offers a rich background of multidimensional characters and an engaging storyline. Most higher end Evangelions fics are of supreme quality and there's almost no yaoi (unlike in most catagories). Despite having been around this section since 2001, I have not been very active as a reader or a writer over the years. My interest is more akin to a cycle of a week of obsessive detail to many months of silent inactivity. As a consequence, many of my stories will not benefit with an update for a very long time, or perhaps never. It must be frustrating for you as a fan of one of my works to see such a promising start, but then find out the author lacks conviction to finish it. I've got a few in my alerts which haven't been updated for years either, but still hoping the author would one day come back and write. That's reality.
My hobbies include gaming, reading and playing the piano/guitar. I have had extensive experiences in competitive gaming in the past, most notably Counter-Strike and Warcraft III, but nowadays I play much less. Regarding reading, I have read a great amount of Evangelion fanfics, though that's not the only thing I read. There are several other catagories I keep an eye on, such as Warhammer or Sci-Fi crossovers. I have also ventured on Fictionpress for a time. Besides reading fanfiction, I also enjoy reading regular science fiction and fantasy novels. My favourite series include the Inda series by Sherwood Smith, the Honor Harrington series by David Weber, and the Codex Alera by Jim Butcher. Sometimes I listen to audiobooks, if I manage to obtain one of sufficient quality. Examples I've listened to includes The Lost Fleet series by Jack Campbell (John G. Hemry), and His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman.
