| My Barbaric YAWP |
Author has written 19 stories for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, M*A*S*H, James Bond, Remington Steele, Moonlighting, House, M.D., and Doctor Who. “The spotted hawk swoops by and accuses me, he complains of my gab and my loitering. I too am not a bit tamed, I too am untranslatable, I sound my barbaric YAWP over the roofs of the world.” ~Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass I have this thing for characters. I can’t explain it. They get into my head and run around until I put them on paper. It’s not always pretty, but it’s usually entertaining. And they’re usually not mine—that’s why they end up here. So look around, review, and enjoy! My current addictions: the new Dr. Who--first story up now. My long-term, committed addictions: Remington Steele, Moonlighting My all time favorites: Indiana Jones, James Bond My one night stands: old school Star Wars (who can resist Harrison Ford?), MASH, House I am also a recovering Harry Potter fan. I am horrendous at meeting deadlines, even the ones I set myself, so my postings tend to be sporadic and grouped. I’m making a commitment to one extended fic, “Once in a Steele Blue Moon,” because it’s already typed up in black and white and ready to be edited and posted for your enjoyment. And because I’d rather read great one liners than talk about myself, enjoy the following compellation. PM me, and I’ll give you the citations, but no—really—they’re not mine… Favorite Quotes: Dr. Who: Capt. Jack: Who looks at a screwdriver and thinks, oooo, this could be a little more sonic? Rose: No, you're not keeping the horse. Capt. Jack: Well, I've got a banana and in a pinch, you could put up some shelves. Doctor: Allons-y! Doctor: Is that what I am now? Am I rude? Rude and not a ginger… Mickey: What’s a horse doing on a spaceship? Remington Steele: RS: Five minutes to get through a hospital standard? If the union ever got wind of this… RS: First you deflate my duck, and now you want to cook my goose. Wonderful. Murphy: I heard fighting, so I knew Mommy and Daddy must be home. LH: Ethics. You’re obviously unfamiliar with the word, never mind the concept. LH: I don’t know what to say. RS: She was in a negligee and you still thought it was Miss Holt? LH: Why are they shooting at us? LH: Don’t do anything reckless in the meantime. Moonlighting: DA: Hey, don’t take this the wrong way, but you kinda remind me of a Pontiac I used to own… MH: I hate you. I despise you. I loathe the ground under which you burrow! DA: Are we not speaking to each other now? Why am I always the last one to know these things? DA: Whoa, lady—I will gladly get you off this train—I will throw you off this train if necessary, but please refrain from any physical act that is not of an erotic nature. MH: First clump of dirt on your coffin—I want to be the one to throw it. MH: Why does this keep happening? DA: Not only are you a sexist, but you are the sexiest sexist it has ever been my good fortune to satirize. MH: Wouldn’t want you losing anymore sleep over me. DA: If anyone’s going to buzz Miss Hayes, it’s gonna be me. | |||||||
