Seriously? Okay...I've just finished high school, and I'm about to start university next year...Hopefully to either study speech pathology or biomedical science. I basically run a secondhand bookstore on my own now after the manager left without bothering to hire a replacement or even notify the owner. I'm slightly too obsessed with books, and also boarderline obsessed with films and tv. Fanfiction has always been a guilty little pleasure of mine. Even if I’ve had a horrible day, there’s something so wonderful and comforting about being able to come home and jump out of reality and into a fantasy world with my favorite characters. I love writing, although the creative variety has never been a skill that has come easily to me. I used to live by the “If I’m not talented, then why waste my time? There are so many writers out there that are so much better” mentality. However then one day my English teacher gave me one very important piece of advice, which basically changed the entire way I see writing; “It doesn't matter whether or not your writing touches millions, or just a dozen...The point is, it touched SOMEBODY, and in the end, isn’t that really all that matters? To touch one life and make them look around at their surrounding world just a little bit differently... isn't that why we write in the first place?” For this one piece of advice, I will always be thankful to him. I read just about everything. There are so many brilliant novels, films and TV shows out there, past and present it’s difficult not to.
