Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter.

19 March 2013: Okerly-dokerly. The redraft of The Tortured Soul is finally up. If anyone wants to beta-read the story, that would be brilliant. All that remains is for the next chapter to be posted ... when I can summon the courage.

Fair warning: I love throwing obstacles at Snape and watching with morbid fascination. But if you're looking for a Snape that becomes reasonable, best look elsewhere. There's many of them about, sadly spoiling an otherwise interesting and enjoyable story. "Reasonable" isn't in Snape's dictionary, at least in canon, and I'm not going to point it out to him (no doubt he'd pick a few other interesting words if I dared to).

Having said that, this story will have a happy ending of sorts, believe it or not.

18 May 2013: For all those who've read The Tortured Soul in 2007 or before. Right. It's been a while! :-) I basically gave it up as dead in the water after Deathly Hallows was published. Then a few years later, it got a review (send thanks or boos to SuddenPsychosis), and it came just at the right time for me to think Why the hell not just finish the damn thing? Even if it doesn't make sense after DH. A few thousand words into the next chapter, and I realised I wasn't going to just finish the damn thing, I was going to be able to make the ending work after all - not in spite of DH, but ... well, without spoiling it completely, I saw that if I was going to do this, I might as well do it properly. So when I looked back over it, it was obvious it needed a lot of work. When I wrote the very first draft of the first chapter in 2005, it was the most I'd ever written of any story, ever. This is just a long-winded way of saying: I haven't changed any of the story, but some subtle things have been tweaked, such as characterisation. You might want to read it again (if you haven't read it in a while, you probably will anyway), but if you don't want to, don't worry - nothing of the plot has changed.
