Author has written 8 stories for Marching Band. "Music is what feelings sound like." -anonymous "We do not create music; we only create the conditions so that she can appear." -Sergiu Celibidache Hi, this is Muircheartach. I'm a freshman music major at a smallish college in Minnesota, I play baritone for drum corps, and I am currently furthering my studies on saxophone. I'm a compulsive overachiever, involve myself in way too much, and wish that I could have more time to write. I am currently working on several story ideas in the marching band genre. The Dare has been finished and has been edited. Chasing Windmills, a one shot, has been posted and is Repente, a two-shot featuring the same characters. Precision is currently on hiatus for the time being. Expectations, a one shot prequel to Convergence, has also been posted. Berceuse is currently being written. Convergence, written with Silvanuyx from FictionPress, is currently being written. Drabbles are ongoing until I finish them. Which may take a while... Or longer. Updates: 22.09.09 New chapter of Berceuse posted. Been busy with college and DCA finals (go MBI- 2nd place for the second year in a row!) Depending on when I get the time, the next chapter should be out soon, give or take a few weeks. Hoping to get it out soon (since Joshua is always interesting to write as) but life has a tendency to have other plans. Stories Berceuse Summary: When Elisabeth Collins, a footloose flautist, is forced to work with Joshua Foley, a hard-nosed trumpet, their lives turn upside down. With the chaos that an unexpected corps move enflicts, the two find that rivalries are a hard thing to change. Chapters (currently): 2 Chasing Windmills Summary: When Alex was put on snare during her freshman year everyone thought there was a fluke. Now she's suddenly given a solo and she'll have to prove that she can do it. One shot, EDITED, COMPLETE. Chapters: 1 (one shot) Convergence Summary: An uptight drum major meeting a punky flautist? This could get very interesting. Friends, or foes? Or an uncanny mixture of both? Written with Silvanuyx from FictionPress. Chapters (currently): 10 (plus two prologues) The Dare Summary: What happens when you mix a stubborn bass drummer and a cocky football player? A vicious bet that puts band geeks versus jocks and no one knows who will win. COMPLETE, EDITED. Chapters: 5 Expectations Summary: A simple word document can't hurt anyone, right? Not when you're Drake Foley. Especially when parental expectations come into play. One shot, COMPLETE. Chapters: 1 (one shot) Precision Summary: When funding cuts close Elise's school, she is forced to transfer schools for her senior year. And when the band director convinces her to join marching band, she'll find out that there's more to it than she originally thought. Chapters (currently): 2 (on hiatus) Repente Summary: The Oak Lake Marching Band is heading off to their biggest competition of the year, but Alex has a weird feeling about things. Is something going to happen or is she just overreacting? Two shot, complete.
