Author has written 26 stories for Full House, Danny Phantom, StarTrek: Deep Space Nine, Harry Potter, Titanic, High School Musical, Outsiders, StarTrek: The Next Generation, StarTrek: Other, Misc. Books, StarTrek: Voyager, and Twilight. My name is Cara. I'm a 14 year old girl living in the U.S. I've been writing fanfiction for about a year or two. I think fanfiction has really improved my writing, especially with adding details and making chapters longer. When I first started writing fanfiction, I was lucky if a chapter reached one page. Now, I've achieved chapter lengths of up to seven or eight pages. I'm hoping to make my chapters even longer in the future. My speciality is characters with disabilities. A lot of my knowledge comes from my own experiences, having mild cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a disability caused by some sort of brain damage at or shortly after birth. In my case, it was a combination of premature birth (I was born 3 months early) and a prolapsed cord (the umbilical cord nearly suffocated me). I can walk without assistance, though I sometimes use a forearm crutch for long walks. This year I will also be using it in school. Cerebral palsy affects who I am, not only my physical being, but my personality, thoughts, and friends. Many of my friends are disabled in some way. My disability has taught me to be more considerate, and to treat everyone like you would want to be treated. So, I incorporate that into my stories. Some people have criticized me for putting a disabled character in all of my stories, but that's just the way I am. That's the way I think. I am an avid disability activist, and I run a website dedicated to helping people with disabilities. I have been running it for about two years, and I find it almost as fun as fanfiction. Almost.
