3 Wrinkles and a Crease is the collaborative efforts of Boomercat, Lynn, Rlynch and Spense. In mid July 2005, the four of us got together in Reno, Nevada from different areas of the United States, such as Missouri, California, Maryland and Washington State, and met face to face for the first time. It’s always interesting to try to pick out people you’ve never met at an airport. However, the signs which read ‘Virgil is a wuss’ and ‘Gordon Rules, Alan Drools’ tended to be a dead giveaway. Needless to say, we had a ball.

We spent one evening trying to decide what to call ourselves when we posted our first story. The name came about because one member of the group ironed a lovely, sharp crease in her shorts each morning. The rest of us were just wrinkled. After the name and reason were put forward by Boomercat at dinner one evening, and the laughter died down, and the drinks spit out in surprise were cleaned up, there really was never any other discussion. We became 3 Wrinkles and a Crease without even having to vote.

While there, story ideas circulated, hilarious comments were made, and we all returned home with wonderful plates which we painted at the Clay Canvas, and each person signed. The memories were wonderful, from the story ideas, Lynn’s dancing, and the impromptu ficlets made up as we wandered around the casino and people watched. Rlynch was the big winner at the nickel slots, and we all did a double take at a place that appeared to be named ‘Scott’s arms’. Unfortunately, on closer look, it was ‘Scotland Armory’. Disappointing, that.

Anyway, we had fun with the collaborative story we came up with, and the challenge story we each arrived with. These will be posted shortly. We hope you enjoy them as much as we had fun writing them.
