Current Quote

I'm not saying Sherlock Holmes wasn't a Christian, I'm saying he believed in evolution. He not only quoted Charles Darwin, he attributed the quote correctly and made reference to a time when human beings had no language, not possible in Christian creationism.

I don't think Holmes could work with Scotland Yard for that long and not believe in lower humanoids.

Ouch, Sherlockian burn...

- Me and an equally obsessed friend

So, decided a list of pairings is boring and decided to, you know, do an actual profile.

Here are some things you may or may not want to know about me: I'm a borderline indie, which means I have an unnecessarily large collection of scarves and listen to a lot of bands no one else knows, but I also have American Eagle jeans and shelled out two hundred bucks for an iPod. I also listen to a lot of techno, opera, techno opera, and musicals. My favourite bands include Toybox, Cobra Starship, David Bowie, Tin Machine, Meat Loaf, and Bloodhound Gang. My favourite musicals are Phantom, Cats, Rent, and The Frogs. My favourite operas are Magic Flute and La Boheme.

I do not watch a lot of TV, but I am a South Park addict and have seen every episode at least once. I also adore House MD, Monk, Robot Chicken, Corner Gas (Canada representing!) and (as ashamed as I am to admit it) Family Guy. My top movies are Pan’s Labyrinth, Silence of the Lams and its sequels/prequels, Misery, Green Mile, and The Staircase.

I will read everything and anything, just ask my school librarian. I have been known to read books in a single day. My favourite authors are Stephen King, Ibsen, George Eliot (everyone must read Middlemarch at least once in their life), Stephen Leacock (the best Canadian writer of all time), and Bernard Shaw.

I would say I’m an atheist if so many people weren’t bent on making us look like complete jerks. I study religion from a scholarly viewpoint and find the Catholic faith particularly fascinating. I am also a student of the Tao from a more personal standing point, though I would not say I am a Taoist. You might find a lot of elements of Taoism in my stories, however, particularly the themes of balance and pathways.

Slash... Isn’t that what everybody loves to either display wildly or shame without mercy? I will refrain from stating my own personal preference because, quite frankly, it doesn’t affect my writing. Am I a slash fan girl who will fave any story with boys making out? No. I do, however, find that same sex romance should be held on the same scale as different sex. Anyone who feels differently has the right to feel that way, and therefore you won’t find me sending scathing PMs to anyone who advertises a dislike of slash on their profile.

I'm on DeviantArt, but there's nothing Holmes related there. Just my photography, which I like to think it alright (but then, that's me). If you're bored, give it a look some time. http://onegig.deviantart.com/

So lately, a lot of RPs I've been in are either slower in updating or have been put on hiatus. I love love love to roleplay. If anyone else wants to roleplay just about anything over e-mail or a message board, drop me a line and we'll see what happens. If you've got a plot for a "Great Mouse Detective" one, I'm likely your new best friend.

My muse is currently being lazy (or maybe I should have put air holes on that jar...) so if anyone has suggestions or requests for "Best Laid Plans" or PhD, don't hesitate to ask.

And finally, if the urge ever strikes you to use one of my original characters (Ann Marie, Eve, Marco Polo, and so on), they're free domain. Simply drop me a line so I can enjoy the story!
