Author has written 12 stories for Harry Potter, and Covenant. Hi! I'm alive! (waves!) Unfortunately, my computer is not. And by I mean not, I mean, totally crashed. As in, my files were not recoverable. Not only did I have hundreds of pages of various fiction on that computer (and, no, hundreds is not an exaggeration -- I think I have close to 120 of my Covenant series which was largely unusable due to plot changes and the what not), but I also had papers on that computer. Papers for grad school. Papers and research and theses options. Papers that are due this week that I spent the past weeks trying to rewrite. It was heartbreaking. And I cried. And then cursed myself for not backing up online or on a flash drive. So...after the tears have dried up, I will get back to writing that last chapter and epilogue that was nearly completed. And then I'll work on reconstructing the rough draft of The Decoding chapters I lost as well. More than disheartening. Also, another heads up. I'm probably changing my email soon...just FYI. Something with space so I can send myself attachments and what not. Anyway, I hope all of you are doing well. And I'm sorry that this Christmas story will take you into Spring. I had such high hopes. But, you know, best laid plans. Mice. Men. Check for an update...um, early next week. Hopefully. It depends. I have to buy a new computer. Right now it's libraries and school computers. ~Aduro Another Update: So, I'm writing a Christmas Story. Nothing too involved, except it is in a new AU. Don't worry. I'm still writing the Code Series, and The Decoding is still be written. However, I've a few plot points I'm trying to straighten out, and it's giving me some trouble (aka, writer's block). So, as not to leave you all with nothing, I give you Discomfort and Joy. It's in an AU where Draco Malfoy did not return to Hogwarts for Year Six due to his father's imprisonment and his need to run the family business. He accidentally fell in with a group of Aurors and became a detective when he turned seventeen. So, Dumbledore's alive, which I guess is one of the major differences. Anyway, it's holiday fun for your holiday downtime. Merry Christmas to you all. May you find Comfort and Joy this holiday season, ~Aduro Hey, So I'm a college student of psychology who loves to write, which is why I'm posting here. I love the Harry Potter series, which is why I'm writing fanfic for it, and I write mostly Draco stories because his character is rather versatile (and I love guys with white-blond hair, which is why I wrote for the Covenant). Actually, on that topic, I had a reviewer who asked if I would write anymore stories in the Unexpected Visitor line. That answer is YES, when I get the chance to sit down and pound on my computer because I originally planned to take that story line further, but I got caught up in school and the Code series. And on the topic of the Code, I am writing the fourth. The tentative title is The End Code and has to deal with the final battle and all that jazz; however, I will not be writing it directly after the third because I need a break. I've been with these characters for a while now, and I feel my energy waning. I decided on the story I am writing between them (because I've half a dozen or more) by consulting with a few of my most faithful reviewers, the Muppets. A quick little teaser - to soften the blow of not having the four all in a row - it takes place at the end of the fifth year at Hogwarts and puts a spin on some of the cliches of Lucius Malfoy. Overused cliche: Lucius Malfoy is a Death Eater and a bad father. The opposite over used cliche: Lucius Malfoy is a spy and a good father. My twist, he's a good guy, but he doesn't know how to be a father. Now he has to learn to reconnect with his wild, adrenaline-junkie son who isn't exactly used to parental guidance. And there's some Voldemort thrown in there, as well as the Order. Add a dash of cliche godfather Severus, some never-before-explored depths of Narcissa Malfoy (who is neither weak nor sickly), and the Weasley clan. Stir until well blended, serve on ice. 'Explaining Draco Malfoy' coming after The Decoding to a computer near you. Anyway, you don't really need to know all of that I suppose, but I'm excited and when I'm excited, I rant. Maya Snape has designed four. I'm not exactly sure if I can put hyperlinks here, so if you want to look at them, simply take out the space I am included before the com. And these are quick sketches done by Roo (done in, I understand, less than two minutes), of Bill and Lukas and I'm amazed. So yeah, I like to look at those when I get writer's block and I hope you love them as much as I. Well, that's about all. Check out my stories! | |||||||
