Attention anyone who reads my stories. I know it's taking me forever and I'm sorry but please believe me, I have NO intention of abandoning EITHER of my stories. Life has been a bear of late but I have been working on the stories as much as I possibly can (which means, not much). Don't give up on me. I swear if it takes two years, I'm going to finish 'A Runaway's Nightmare' and 'Careless'.

Okay, as promised, here's a preview of an upcoming chapter of "A Runaway's Nightmare" and PLEASE, let me know if you like it. I'm really curious.

Not since the attack on his beloved Celebrian had Lord Elrond felt such gut-wrenching despair.

The man -- nay, the animal -- who stood before him, looked triumphantly at the elf lord and repeated his demands.

"It is true, Master Elrond. And unless you want to see your son alive again, you will release me and you will give me the treasure I have sought these past weeks and you will pledge not to harm me when this is all over.

"And if I do not?"

"Then the things your boy has suffered up 'til now will pale in comparison to what Trenarien will do to him before he..kills him."

Dranariec paused and stared at the elves who made up the search party. The twins' faces were dark with rage and frustration and Elrond knew that were it not for his orders, the man would have long since been dead. But as much as hatred for this human..filth..threatened to overwhelm him, Dranariec was their only link to finding Estel.

Dranariec sensed that he now held the upper hand and he almost casually added, "And believe me, master elf, Tranarien has made your boy suffer considerably already. Why, you might find this hard to believe, but some of the thing he forced the lad to do sickened even me."

Elrond's face paled and he hazily realized that his efforts at composure were failing miserably.

A malicious smile at the effect his words had on the Lord of Imladris brightened the villain's face and he continued his diatribe.

"Aye, but it were real satisfying taking my..pleasure..with your boy. Never saw such pretty eyes and when he begged me to stop, I tell you, why, I almost felt guilty." The man sniggered as if he had just uttered some profound witticism. "Course he were mighty tempting and I weren't able to stop and just between you and me, by the time I was done he was begging for more."

At that, the man erupted in crude laughter, reveling in the looks of shock and outrage evident on each elven face.

Unable to restrain himself any longer, an unearthly howl of anguish emanating from his throat, Elladan lunged at the startled human. The older twin grabbed Dranariec's hair and he violently jerked the man's head back. Before anyone could stop him, the sharp edge of his knife was poised at Dranariec's throat, digging in to the creases of his neck, and the man gasped in fear as Elladan's grip on the knife tightened.

With a hiss of despair, his voice coming out in a strangled sob, Elladan raged at Estel's kidnapper. "Tell me you lie! Tell me you lie! Tell me you did not do..those things..to my little brother! Tell me and make me believe you, because I swear, if you hurt him like that, if you used him for your sick pleasure like that..I will kill you even if my ada will not! I swear it! Tell me you did not!"

(Don't worry; it'll end up in the story before the end).

If you haven't already done so, check out my LOTR slash C2 group, 'Oh, Valar! Who Did You Say Likes Me?' -- Aragorn is the focus. I'm going to change it though from strictly a slash/erotic group of stories to include 'regular fics' too because the slash pickins' are pretty slim anymore whereas the other is almost untapped (from my POV)!
