I am a 49-year-old man Louisiana native now living in Wisconsin, married with three sons – two
in college and one in the US Army. We also own five dogs – two
Dobermans, a retired racing Greyhound and two Pugs. I work in economic
development – that is, it’s my job to help businesses create new jobs
and opportunities.
I have been involved in community theater in
the past, as an actor, a director and a playwright. I was a business
major in college – BS at Centenary College and MBA from Tulane – but I
love history. I also enjoy golf, cooking (like all good Cajuns) and
traveling with my wife.
I do like hard science fiction – Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury and
Larry Niven are particular favorites. And, of course, JRR Tolkein. But
lately historical fiction has caught my eye. I have read all of Jane
Austen, Patrick O’Brian, and CS Forester’s Hornblower series. One of these days I’ll start on the Sharpe series.
My stories: The Three Colonels is my first attempt at fan fiction. I get to
blend real historical figures with Austen’s beloved characters. It is
as much about the three colonel’s ladies as anything else.
The companion
piece, The Unexpected Passenger, stars Frederick and Anne Wentworth with Dr. Stephen Maturin of the Aubrey/Maturin series (Master & Commander).
The Companion of His Future Life is a humorous retelling of Pride
& Prejudice based on one quirk of fate: what if Mr. Collins had married
Mary Bennet?
Crescent City is a crossover of Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility and Emma set in modern-day New Orleans.
