Author has written 15 stories for Firefly, Magnificent Seven, Nodame Cantabile, Darker than BLACK, and Pride and Prejudice. Bio: In the normal course of my rather mundane life, I am your run-of-the-mill suburbanite, married with two active children. I have been involved as a volunteer for the greater part of my life in non-profit organizations. When I'm not busy with family life, I work casually in adult education (ESL). My interest in writing go back a long way... probably when I was 7 or 8 and retold Hansel and Gretel's encounter with the witch with unhealthy relish. Interests: In short, I am a popular culture junkie... I devour anything from scifi television to anime to books and films. My interests are varied, reflected in the kinds of things I read, watch and write about. In my collection of bric-a-brac, Jane Austen rubs shoulders with The Matrix and Lord Peter Wimsey stares through his monocles at the dust gathering collection of Phantom comics. Crime fiction is my great love... the ideal way to veg out in the evenings. But really there's not a lot that I don't read or watch but I draw the line at horror. I don't mind scifi horror but am very squeamish with everything else under the banner of "horror". A cursory look at my profile will reveal my inclination to write romance oriented fics although I do enjoy putting a little suspense into my stories. As a reader, I tend to read fanfiction in areas where I feel that canon has left gaps or has handled unsatisfactorily. But lately I seem to be branching out into sequels and even enjoying them. I've also written fanfics for Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica (2004) which are all found on my Live Journal. Yeah, I do love my scifi. Fringe is my latest love! Nodame Cantabile: I am currently preoccupied with writing for an anime/manga series called Nodame Cantabile. Stories completed and published here on FF.net for that series include Cat's in the Cradle, A Roman Holiday and Intermezzo. Stories completed on Live Journal include Love is Four-Letter Word, On A Clear Day I Can See You Forever and What Do You Get When You Fall in Love. These are a series of interconnected one shots and come under the heading of The Cantabile Trilogy. I have also completed a short Christmas fic, The Gift of the Magi modelled after O.Henry's short story. I will probably do a fic dump here of the Cantabile Trilogy in the next few weeks. A Working Honeymoon is now complete! Yay... no one is happier than moi about that... I've had a really bad case of insomnia the past week and probably not a great person to live with. I don't expect to be writing NC stories for a while... Writing multi-chaptered stories takes a lot out of me. Unless of course, something compelling takes place in the manga and from the looks of things, lots of interesting developments are in the pipeline. Future Plans and Projects I'm doing a bit of reading and research for a story of another anime series. My plan is to do a futuristic, science fiction type piece... most probably multi-chaptered. I write a lot of fluff and I want to try something a little different, challenge myself a little. This is not to say I'll be ignoring fluff altogether. :D I'm sure I'll find some way of incorporating it into whatever I do. Good news for Darker than BLACK fans... I am considering updating A Whiter Shade of Grey in the next two months... very seriously considering... | |||||||||
