Author has written 26 stories for Harry Potter. I enjoyed the early Harry Potter novels, especially OotP, but it was not until I read HBP that the human drama and moral weight of J.K. Rowling's Potterverse fully struck me. In the year and a half following the publication of HBP, I wrote nearly 150,000 words of fanfiction, most of it focusing on minor characters or undeveloped corners of the wizarding world. I wrote to explore characters that touched me and questions that troubled me; I also wrote to distract and comfort myself in a difficult period of my life. My fanfiction project absorbed a tremendous amount of time--I achieved the output I did only because I was sleeping so poorly in those years, writing in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep--but it did me a world of good. It taught me a lot about writing as well. I'm grateful to J.K. Rowling for giving us the wizarding world to romp in, and for cheerfully tolerating the droves of fanfiction that her fans produced. Most of the stories posted here were written between the publication of HBP and the publication of DH. For this reason, they are canon-compliant through HBP only.
