Author has written 35 stories for O.C., Ninja Turtles, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alex Rider, West Wing, Chronicles of Narnia, Brokeback Mountain, Pride and Prejudice, and Merlin. So, another year, another bio. Yes, I realise I'm a little late to be claiming that this is the result of the New Year. Let's say - spring cleaning, yes? Firstly, I really can't thank enough everyone who PM'd me about the message on my previous bio; although obviously, it doesn't 'fix' the problems, it does make me feel a whole lot better about having to deal with them. Plagiarism is unpleasant, but, let's face it, fairly inescapable. But the AR fandom is so small, and any plagiarism is so immediately obvious. There's no reason why it has to be encouraged, right? I know I'm guilty of it myself, to a certain extent. Hell is Other People is derivative, playing on an already existing cliche, so - people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, I know. Still, the stone's been thrown; let's hope the ripples wash away some of the algae on the top of the pond. (makes mental note to avoid extended metaphors for the foreseeable future) My other problems with the fandom - accusations of poor research, etc - are personal, but that one affects us all, you know? We should be able to deal with it... don't you think? But, yes. I really appreciate the support, and even if I didn't reply to you, please believe that it really meant a lot to me. I know what it's like to go out on a limb and contact someone, then not to get a reply, and I'm sorry to have done that to anyone else, but every single message made me smile. It was even nicer than the reviews people leave - which are lovely, too, don't get me wrong! _ - because they were so personal, and people put so much thought into them. Sadly, real life tended to get in the way of actually replying... On that note, on to the boring stuff about my real life! Name: here on ff.net, amitai. on livejournal, xaritomene. Because I shamelessly stole the name off my friend xaritomene here on ff.net. And yes, that does get incredibly confusing. To enable her stalkers, she's xyrsomou over there. Age: 19; I alternate between acting like a seven-year-old and then feeling about forty. Evidently I skipped being a proper teenager and went straight to middle age - when I'm about fifty or so, my mid life crisis will be of epic proportions. Family: Well, some mothers do have 'em. My poor mama had two... there's me, blonde and hopeless, and my brother, who is... well... my brother. Then there's also a father and a grandmother. Thankfully, just the one of both; I love my family to pieces, but only one at a time, only, please. Two of my brother would just about kill me. Fandoms: Well, predominantly Alex Rider and the new BBC show, Merlin. So far, all my Merlin fics are on my livejournal account - which is now my homepage, too; the comm where Von and I have our fics is slowly becoming an independent webpage, which I will link from my journal as and when it becomes available. For reference purposes, that comm is called ami_n_von, and it's on the 'Links' section on the left hand side of my journal. For the record, my journal is partly f-locked (friends locked, for those who don't know; livejournal.com has a feature which allows you to 'lock' posts against everyone seeing them); everything personal about my life is mostly f-locked, and most fandom-related things are public. If you do want to friend me, I'll happily friend back, but please please please leave a comment on a journal post telling me who you are and why you're friending me. I get a bit creeped out when names I don't recognise friend me. Who the hell are you?! There are, as warning, a couple of ranty posts about the AR fandom as a whole. They aren't rants against anyone in fandom; my issues with it are general, not personal. :D But I don't want anyone getting hurt or angry by it. DON'T friend me if you think you're going to get upset about things like that. Sometimes I just need to rant, and my personal journal - bearing in mind such posts will be f-locked - is a better place than most. Onwards! Other fandoms I read in/have written in are Supernatural (more read than write, though some fics are being written, achingly, achingly slowly), TMNT ((headdesk)), the OC, One Tree Hill, The West Wing, Harry Potter, Smallville, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Lord Peter Wimsey ((fangirls like woah)), Jane Austen, Ocean's 11... The list is nearly endless. :D Note about fics: NONE of my fics are abandoned. None of them. Ever. No, not even that OC fic that hasn't been updated since 2005. (gulp) Yes, I admit, that one has a pretty strong case for abandonment. But the next chapter is on my computer being written. Just - very very slowly. Over the course of 4 years. Please stop giving me that look. So, yes. I'll provide here a notice of which AR fics I'm concentrating on at the moment, and which are On Hiatus. Obviously, as one of the fics I'm concentrating on finishes, one of the ones on hiatus will be taken off... here's hoping none of them take TOO many years to complete. g Active: - Hell Is Other People All my other stories are - unless I say otherwise or update/finish a story (for example, "A Fairy's Tale" should have only one chapter left, so that might well get finished sometime in the near-ish future) - on hiatus. Hope that clears things up for people! Quick extra note: I will never post any of my NC-17 stories here. We're specifically asked not to by the posting regulations, and no amount of asking will persuade me to post blatantly NC-17 fics here (or even non-blatantly NC-17 fics; I reserve my right to choose how I rate my own work!) They are all posted over at my livejournal (again, my homepage), and I never f-lock my fics, so they are all easily available. You'll find them here: Hopefully that link will survive...
