I've changed a lot in the years I've been writing fanfiction, and so I have decided to give myself a new pen name: I am now Epiphany at Midnight, formerly known as Nayanya.
I AM IN NEED OF A BETA READER. SERIOUSLY. You might even say URGENTLY.
If you're registered as a beta reader, like my writing, and you are capable of spending hours poring over my work to change my verb tenses (I have a problem with that) and basically doing simple things like spell-checking and keeping an eye out for plot holes, please contact me using the site. If you for some reason are NOT registered as a beta reader on this site, and think that you are capable of doing everything I require regardless, feel free to email me or leave a comment on my livejournal with your email address. I have a few larger works in various stages of production that REALLY require some editing before I even think about posting them.
According to this website, I am currently on the favourites list of 94 members. As flattered as I am, I can't help but feel like you've misplaced some kind of trust in me. I shall endeavour to live up to your expectations.
If you've been in withdrawal from wanting to read my stories, I am currently writing original fiction under the name Epiphany At Midnight at fictionpress.net as well, and I occasionally post short pieces on my livejournal.
I have written fanfiction for Harry Potter, Stargate: Atlantis, and Veronica Mars. Not all of that is posted here, sorry. I may, in the near future, choose to write in the Firefly/Serenity, Twilight, Stargate: SG-1, or Supernatural fandoms.
A bit of random information: The Lord's Prayer is 66 words, the Gettysburg Address is 286 words, there are 1,322 words in the Declaration of Independence, but government regulations on the sale of cabbage total 26,911 words. This is proof that sometimes, less is more. It doesn't really matter how many words you use to say something, it matters that they are the right words. Some stories are lovely because of their plot and characters, and some are lovely because they are well written. I aim for the best of both worlds.
"A Story of a Princess" was my first fic, and so I don't care that it was plot-less and predictable, it still deserves respect and a silent, awed reverence.
Most of the time, I'm rather hyper. You would never have guessed, from the way my stories have a tendency to play out. Instead, you probably are of the opinion that I am only in possession of a serious side. As a matter of fact, you probably think I am morbid... Which is true. But I am CHEERFULLY morbid, which is good. Or not. But in case some of my author's notes scare you... ignore them. I usually try to write well and keep the caffeine, sugar, and intense enthusiasm from leaking into my stories. However, sometimes I can't, and you will find a bit of insanity in my stories. Don't worry, the plot is still there, but it's hiding. you see? If you're reading this, you're crazy.
Quotations I Enjoy:
-- "I don't believe in racism in any way, shape, or form. I think there are idiots in every colour, race, or religion.." -- Al Brown, Rock 95 (Radio station
-- "The average woman would rather have beauty than brains, because the average man can see better than he can think.
-- "I'm not scared... but my inner child has run away in terror and is threatening to jump off of the coffee maker... funny thing is, we don't have a coffee maker."
-- "Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I shall not put!" -- Winston Churchill
I currently am re-assessing my recommendations list. I'm sure I'll manage to put something else here.
Info on my stories: Cause you KNOW you want it...
I am sad to announce that I have absolutely no intentions of updating any of my Harry Potter fanfiction at this point. I may, at a later date, return to finish and/or rewrite my favourite stories. However, at this time I will NOT be updating any Harry Potter stories. I may change my mind, but not this summer.
SGA fic:
The sequel to "Throw Himself Into the Sky" which I have tentatively named "Last Chance" is much, much longer, and much more involved. I'm writing it in three or four parts, and I will not be posting it until it is complete, and then I am going to post it chapter by chapter, probably every other day until the whole thing is up.
I have a few one-shots and shorter peices that I might collect from my livejournal account and post on here as well, if I have the time.
I am currently working on a VERY long, slightly complex AU, starring my favourite SGA characters. It's teen!SGA, sort of. I have written about 16 000 words so far, and it seems nowhere near completion, and I already have an idea for the sequel(s). So, hopefully, this will be completed soon. Thankfully, I HAVE found myself a (pretty amazing) beta.
I have written a short peice of Veronica Mars fic, which I will attempt to post. Eventually.
I MIGHT write a Twilight piece... I have two I want to write. However, I am considering waiting until the next book is published before I post anything. You'll see this... maybe in September, if I have the time to work on it.
I will be using a bit of this summer to write some fanfic that, sadly, I am not allowed to post on this website because it will have an adult rating. If I do write and publish it, it will be available on my livejournal or website
To all of you incredibly wonderful people who are still reading my stories, who still have me on their favourites list - be warned, I AM grateful. Don't be shocked if I come up with something new just for you.
