I like most kinds of stories except for the ones that go a little overboard on the horror. I mean, alright, the guy/gal got hideously maimed/tortured/etc., but I don't really need a blow-by-blow graphic description of it. A little vagueness can go a long way.

I have no objections to slash, as long as its reasonable. (i.e. "unreasonable" being a situation where A. Two presumably straight characters who have little to no meaningful interaction in the canon suddenly start coming on to each other and B., When almost all of the characters turn gay. This happens a lot in the Naruto fandom, in which the author decides to pair up almost the entire male population of Konoha with each other. One or two other homosexual couples are realistic, but when an entire generation is either a gay male or a crazed, unlovable harpy, one begins to suspect that perhaps someone has put something in the drinking water. C. Male Pregnancy. Never, ever, under any circumstances. Know now that any story with the phrase 'm-preg' in it will never be read, alerted, favorited, or reviewed in any way other than a flame by myself.)

One other thing: If you're going to post on this site, I would ask that you at least attempt to use grammar. Just recently I read a summary for a poem that went like this:

Hi pride here and a friend of mine kakashi w thats his chibi face don't steal friend:or i'll keel you! don't ask me. back to the poem its lately i've felt really alone and i hate showing emotion so i write till i can write no more read and review.l8ters

WTF?

A few other things that bother me is unnecessary OOC-ness in any story that is not an AU, misspelling the names of the characters multiple times (Gimpli, Grimli, or Gimi instead of Gimli.), using hideous nicknames for characters (Kags for Kagome), obvious lack of canon knowledge, and the smell of cabbage.
