Author has written 5 stories for Tenchi Muyo, Evangelion, and Lucky Star. About me? You can also find stuff of mine at http://www.youtube.com/ArmorBlade Name: ...hmmm starts with D Age: in the college years Description: Male, 5'8'', 135lbs - bit of a small fry --update-- Well, so far 'Luck and Oblivion' has turned out great I think, I've had a lot of fun writing it and should for a long time yet. But its readership is still quite lacking what I thought it might have, good thing I moved it out of the 'crossover' section because that area was completely dead in comparison. Reviews are few, but are from several returning readers with honest critiques so I can't complain. Maybe later others will see that dispite all the Oblivion game setting, that there's a good amount of in-canon Lucky Star spirit weaved into the story as well. Otherwise I apologize for my absence in writing lately, some of my stories are well a year behind. I've been busy on several forums - including an RP one I treat as a workshop for how to create good OCs, perhaps have stepped up my sense of humor(maybe) and horror(definately), immersing myself in several new animes/manga to open several more doors in mind, and then my laptop went capoot over the summer severely limiting how much I could write despite all my free time. My favorite animes include: Evangelion, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, Ghost in the Shell, Saikano, Gunslinger Girl, Code Geass, Cowboy Bepop, Trigun, Tenchi Muyo(ova - the spin offs are a headache), Nasica - Valley of Wind, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, and a lot of those types of classics. Here There Now Then is interesting enough to watch through once, and one time only. Any more than that and you're practically wishing to gain motivation to commit suicide. - Outright stay far far away from Gantz series - you.have.been.warned. Favorite to read on FFnet: Evangelion, FMP, Lucky Star, Naruto(I refuse to watch it now, some fanfics are better), and a few on Harry Potter(but really getting tired of sifting through all the yaoi and crap and crossovers) If I were an anime character, I could see myself being Hitsugya from Bleach - quiet, understanding of common sense, seemingly cold and apathetic, yet caring to the closest of friends. And then there's something about white hair that just strikes me, maybe because it's unique - so I actually tried getting my hair white and I don't recommend it! Takes multiple acid sessions and only the summer sun can actually tone it to the desired affect, but by then my darker brown roots were showing which surprisingly didn't look bad at all - so now I have some odd fav. color combo of white and brown... About being on FFnet Been a fanfic reader since about 15 starting out with Inuyasha and just started writing these last few years. I don't expect myself to be any kind of great writer, but am proficient enough in grammer, research, and concept developement to keep it clear in order to get the story out there and be entertaining/worthwhile to someone out there. I admit that I lack social experiences to make up really convincing character interactions, and will probably be one of my biggest challenges to address. Otherwise my biggest problem is converting my thoughts and notes into typed form as I start over-analyzing every line I write for the stories. So please have patience with my few and far in between updates! For reading, in general I like seeing new ideas and story concepts that still keep canon to origional animes but change those few elements that almost make the story better than the origional - while not going overboard. On occasion I enjoy a moody or comedic crackfic to search for unique concepts that dab in the extreme spectems, find nutty material that literally have me spasming in chuckles - or sometimes to search out one that expesses exactly I am feeling at the moment. For the most part I like works in canon, but I can also stand well done AUs and crossovers once in a while. I will warn that I am a CRITIC. Not a flamer. I see potential in any fresh concept - how well developed and written out it turns out to be is another matter. Like I said I'm far from being a great writter myself, that's not what I'm in college for - but I can definately recognize slop. If it truely is bad in all aspects - I just simply leave it alone, no review, no flame, no chewing out or handing out pointers. I urge many a flamer that if the story is THAT bad, leave it and forget it for all time. To acknowledge it at all is a point gained to some of these writers - a review is a review and is a point system and nothing else. However take into account that some of these people are foriegn and are trying to appeal to what they think are 'westernized' views - there is appsolutely no reason to bring such people to stop writing by a flamer's ill words. On the flip side, there are writers on this site that are...are...there isn't a word in english that can properly distinguish their talent and effort. Professional published works outright invisibly pale in comparison, and yet here we are granted the privilage to read them - granted that we manage to mine those saphires from the gravel, there is talent and luck involved in such searches. And keep in mind that these writers are doing it for free, where as mediocre works actually make money out there - I don't bother with novels period anymore if you can't tell. So allow me to stand dumbly in awe to such writers out there, for many of you are also so modest to blink in confusion as to what I'm in awe of. A New Sasami (Tenchi Muyo) My first fanfic and release as tribute to the fact it was the first anime I experienced - not the best quality by today's standards but fell in love with the story's plot, universe, and ties the characters developed. - Currently on hold for some reason or other - call it trying too hard as I want this to become one of my greatest works and I'm not quite satisfied with my writing skills. WILL turn out to be story of epic telling, but not in length really, but has a grand plot centered upon my own fictionous reality of sorts - not a crossover. 2. Tag for Shinji (Evangelion) An attempt at a humorous spoof that is more experimentation than story. I am somewhat amazed that it has been recieved rather well 3. Resolutions (Evangelion) A spur of the moment one shot I did over New Years that is expanding to cover the other moments through the year that celebrate being human. For Rei this means finding that humanity and Shinji will be there by her side each step of the way. The sunny carefree days of awakening can only last for so long though. Awakening to what life includes is but of course two sided Currently considering a more in-depth revision. 4. Every Man is an Island (Evangelion) Side story to Resolutions focusing on Gendo's time out on an island. He needs to get back in touch with his human side - with the humility he faces just in order to survive. A bit of humor and deep reflection. General Gendo torture. 5. Untitled (Naruto/Eva crossover) I'm not the biggest fan of crossovers as they are not always well done, but being a critic should help make it into something. A story request from a reader who thought I could pull it off, which mainly caught my eye because frankly I've never seen a Naruto - Evangelion cross, so plenty of unique concept points waiting there to be explored. Currently have first two chapter drafts done and will start release when the third one is solid. Not likely to be released, I looked towards where it would end up and didn't like any of the outcomes - it just wasn't Narutoish in any way. 6. Standing Between Luck and Oblivion (crossover) The girls of Lucky Star in the setting of Cyrodil under assault by the forces of Oblivion (the rpg). Started off with seeing the ova of them playing together in an online game, not really that familiar with games such as WOW, I turned to an rpg I still play. Simple profile designs for them soon snowballed as I adapted their characteristics into individual gear set up, placement, and personal backstories as if they were truely born in such a world. This is the result - a rather in character adventure for the girls while still maintaining the same air of casual sharing of insights on life and culture as the anime, but dealing with the subjects and actions of this world. Future fics. I plan to do...something with. Mostly still in idea/outline planning/sketching mode. I do have written notes, just have to somehow take the leap to write them out formally - honest! - at least 1 Naruto in works but not releasing until I have 3 chapters finished. A horror story definately worth being squimish about. - Another Evangelion - A mystry/horror fic. where a madness consumes someone's mind and turns many of the Eva events for the worse. Revealing the full dark measures and possibilities behind Nerv. Pilot death, child torture, conspiracy, betrayal, more close calls, loss of important elements, more cunning and sickly twisted characters, get the idea? - Possible spliting of "A New Sasami" at a vital point and start sequal. | |||||||||
