Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter, and Twilight. Hello to anyone reading this, that is, assuming that someone might actually read this, I love books, conspiracies, Swedish rock music (specifically Sugarplum Fairy, Johnossi, Mando Diao, Laakso and Molotov Jive), motorcycles, my cat, skiing, arguing, and riding trains. I hate/strongly dislike homophobes, racist and/or sexist people, Twilight (I'm on 'team' "Kill Bella" incase anyone's interested), people who walk slowly while blocking a hallway/sidewalk/etc, the color orange, and badly written books. My favorite authors would have to be Tamora Pierce, Chris Crutcher, Terry Pratchett, Orson Scott Card, and Eoin Colfer. My five favorite books are (in no particular order) The Princess Bride, My Sister's Keeper, Good Omens, The Outsiders, and Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes. If I were a book, I would be Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman; if I were a band, I would be Sugarplum Fairy; if I were an animal, I would be a cat; as a human, I'm an INFJ according to the Meyers-Briggs personality test. I read almost exclusively Harry Potter fanfiction. My favorite characters are Draco, Sirius, Remus, Fred, George, Hermione, Luna, James, Lily, and, of course, Harry. I dislike Snape, Pansy, and Lavender, although I'll read fics with them as semi-main characters as long as it's written well (it helps if one of my favorites is one of the main characters in said fic). I'm a huge fan of DMHP and RLSB slash. Gay marriage: 2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. 4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal. 5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed. 6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children. 7) Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children. 8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America. 9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children. 10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans... -- Quotes: "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind." -Rudyard Kipling "There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!" -Terry Pratchett. "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." - Dwight D. Eisenhower "Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages." -Thomas Edison "They called me mad, and I called them mad, and damn them, they outvoted me!" -Nathaniel Lee "Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.” -Jane Howard "It is always the best policy to tell the truth, unless of course you are an exceptionally good liar." -Mark Twain "If you think things can't get worse it's probably only because you lack sufficient imagination." -Shakespeare "One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one’s work is terribly important." - Bertrand Russell "Better to light a candle than curse the darkness." - Chinese Proverb "Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are good is like expecting the bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian." - Dennis Wholey You'll never see all the places, or read all the books, but fortunately, they're not all recommended. - William Shakespeare Life is a tragedy to those who feel, and a comedy to those who think. - Horace Walpole What upsets me is not that you lied to me, but that from now on I can no longer believe you. - Nietzsche Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. - Shakespeare Your reasoning is excellent - it's only your basic assumptions that are wrong. - Mark Twain Genius may have its limitations, but stupidity is not thus handicapped. - Elbert Hubbard Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you recognize a mistake when you make it again. - Franklin P. Jones Conscience doth make cowards of us all. - Shakespeare Electrocution, n.: Burning at the stake with all the modern improvements. The trouble with doing something right the first time is that nobody appreciates how difficult it was. -- Walt West Life would be much simpler and things would get done much faster if it weren't for other people – Blore Ninety percent of everything is crap. - Theodore Sturgeon Reality is nothing but a collective hunch. - Lily Tomlin People should be a little loony, Helena. That's the best thing about them. - Karel Capek Everybody has a secret world inside of them. All of the people of the world, I mean everybody. No matter how dull and boring they are on the outside, inside them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands maybe. - Neil Gaiman Show me a hero and I will write you a tragedy. - F. Scott Fitzgerald The play was a great success but the audience was a disaster - Oscar Wild From the equality of rights springs identity of our highest interests; you cannot subvert your neighbor's rights without striking a dangerous blow at your own. – Carl Schurz People who develop the habit of thinking of themselves as world citizens are fulfilling the first requirement of sanity in our time. - Norman Cousins | |||||||
