Author has written 28 stories for ER, and Grey's Anatomy.

In comparison to many of the profiles on here, it has gradually dawned on me that mine has been somewhat brief and uninformative, so this is my attempt to rectify that. I also have to bake a birthday cake for my secretary's birthday tomorrow, and I'm procrastinating. I do a lot of procrastinating.

I live in the UK and am training as a Chartered Surveyor. Still. I have schoolfriends who are now qualified doctors and I am still plugging away at exams, revision, and coursework as if I was still a student. Except now I have to hold down a full time job at the same time. That, combined with the aforementioned procrastinating, is the reason I update about as often as your average solar eclipse.

One day, I want very much to live by the sea, write full time (I have about half a dozen novel-length stories lurking undisturbed in a rarely visited corner of my laptop which get worked on even less often than my fanfiction stories) and possibly run a small tea-shop where ruddy cheeked waitresses wear frilled aprons and serve cream teas and home baked cakes. Of course, in order to be able to achieve this ambition, I will have to win the lottery, so it's probably not going to happen in the immediate future.

My interests, if you're interested, are widely ranging, and include a passion bordering on addiction for the following:
Reading (my favourite authors, absolutely genuinely and somewhat pretensiously being Austen, Gaskell and Hardy)
Current affairs (particularly political)
University Challenge (this one doesn't merely border on addiction, it is a full blown obsession)
Meerkat Manor (have you seen it? It's like a soap with Meerkats - genius!)
British comedy (the old classics, like To the Manor Born, The Good Life, Porridge, Absolutely Fabulous, Men Behaving Badly, Vicar of Dibley - I feel a particular affinity to the Vicar of Dibley, the village I am from I swear to God was the inspiration for Dibley)
American dramas (ER, Grey's Anatomy, all the CSIs, House)
Horse racing (National Hunt, the real stuff)
Cricket (yes, really. And I mean test cricket, proper five day matches, none of this Twenty20 rubbish)
Baking (I made the mistake of baking a cake for work once and now have to suffer regular demands from my colleagues to be provided with baked goods)
Anything with a vaguely maritime inclination (boats, islands, beaches, the sea, surfers. Especially surfers.)
Cider (Cornish Rattler)
Gin and Tonic (with lime, not lemon. Always lime)
Banter (though by no means necessary, it helps if you are British and boarding school-educated to truly appreciate this)
Geology (Blame a particularly inspiring/enthusiastic teacher at school)
Tweed (to date I own a tweed coat, tweed jacket, tweed handbag, tweed waistcoat, tweed cap and tweed shoes. I am always looking to expand my collection.)
The countryside and rural affairs (impossible to define unless it's something you care about as well. I guess I mean farming first and foremost, and young people being able to afford to buy houses in the villages they were brought up in, and not have to move to cities to get decent jobs, the land, wildlife, hunting, crap public transport, second home owners, NIMBYS, the people from cities who buy the chocolate box cottage overlooking the village green then object to the new affordable housing development being built for local people down the road. Everything that is part of the balance.)

By no means an exhaustive list, as you can probably guess, but it gives you a fair idea of what makes me tick.

My Stories:
A full list can obviously be found below. I won't bother running through the finished ones, but as far as the unfinished ones go, a few can probably be described as dormant, but you can consider the following as active:
Back to the Beginning - ER, a particularly angsty Season 12 fic, a prequel to Against the Odds. Ray/Neela - of course.
Be careful what you wish for - Grey's Anatomy, in which Addison returns to Seattle following Callie's death to share custody of Callie's daughter with Mark. Addison/neither she nor I have quite decided yet, but it's a toss up between Alex and Mark, something of an ensemble fic though so expect an appearance from pretty much everyone
We die on the march - ER Season 15/Grey's Season 5 crossover, in which Ray accepts a post in a new PM&R department at Seattle Grace and finds Alex to be his most challenging patient. Ray/Neela, Alex/Addison and a whole lot more besides.
The New York Series - Grey's Anatomy, not a story as such, but a series of one-shots/short stories that feature the woefully underexplored Addison/Derek/Mark dynamic. Currently comprising 'Remember the Debutante Ball' and the first of what will probably be four chapters of 'The Tenth Anniversary'.

On a final note, reviews are almost as good as a pint of Rattler on a sunny day overlooking the beach. Admittedly, there is an element of ego-feeding to have a complete stranger leave you a nice little message telling you they enjoyed your writing, but they serve a purpose as well. Tell me what you liked, what you didn't, and why. If I've tried a different style of writing, tell me if you think it worked or not. It helps make whatever the next thing I write better. On behalf of all writers on here, trust me when I say that whatever it is you are reviewing took a Hell of a lot longer to write than however long it will take you to review it. Well, as a rule, because I have to say, there are some excellent reviewers on here and some not so excellent writers, so swings and roundabouts I guess.
