Author has written 40 stories for Harry Potter, and Fruits Basket. In responce to a particularly idiotic review- It's a shame you have written Draco as an American child. The story interests me but since Draco is not American the dialogue grates too much to carry on. Kate I KNOW that Draco is not American and I have not written him as such. Considering I took great pains to make the dialogue realistic, I am most annoyed my this comment. Please let me know if you think Kate is right... ¬¬ Hmph... Anyway, whilst I'm here- major apologies for the lack of updates...as ever, I am very busy and really don't know when I will be able to update. Thank you for your continuing support and please keep reading :) Lily xx A Child Called Draco has been nomiated for 'Best Angst' category in the quibbler awards! Thank you to whoever nominated!! Please vote for me and my fic!- http://quibbler.this-paradise.com/ Thank you so much! xxx Hello, my name is Esme- or Lily as I sign everything- I am a sixteen year-old english girl who has just completed the four worst years of her life aka. High School and am about to study English Language, Literature, Philosophy and Politics at Exeter college. This may come as a surprise to some of you, but I am generally a very happy person- Although I do not live with my parents, I have never been abused and Ihave had a very happy childhood. Do not ask me how I can write about such a serious and contoversial subject as child abuse when I have never experienced it myself, because I haven't a clue. My friends- 'real' or internet- are the most important things in my life, closely followed by Draco and HP in general. And Merlin help anyone who scews around with any of them. I am unreasonable- I have a very Lucius-esque temper when pushed too far- but I always apologise if I am in the wrong and back down when necessary. I know when I am beaten.I hate unreasonable, small minded people who don't listen to others. i can't stand people who try and tell others what to think and have a go just because they don't agree with certain things. Everyone has the right to think what they want and believe what they want as long as they don't hurt others. I love Draco for my own reasons and, you may think me odd, he is one the most prominent figures in my life. I can identify deeply with Severus- i was picked on mercilessly by the 'Populars' at my school. I was the geeky HP fan who didn't have a washing machine...and they never could get passed that. I have only read Deathly Hallows once and I am dreading the film. On an off note, I can't stand Lily Potter. She obviously never felt the same way about Sev as he did about her, but she knew that he loved her and was too cowardly to tell him directly that it was never going to happen. So, what does she do? She waits for an excuse to present itself. If she cared about him, even a little, she would have forgiven what was effectivly, just a stupid mistake. sigh Poor Sev... Anyways, I love writing more than anything and I am so honoured and grateful that you guys are reading my fics. every review is gratefully recieved and taken notice of. I admit, I am a total review junkie- which is not a good thing- I get totally depressed when I look at my stats...but then I look at how many favourites I have and how many positive things people have said and it always cheers me up :D Thank you all so much- especially those who take the time to talk to me (By the way, I love hearing from people so feel free to send me a peanut and it will be returned) and keep reading! Hearts, Lily xxx 20/11/08- Firstly, I am so unbelievably sorry for how crap I am being both with updates and with reading...I have forgotten your fic, Notwolf, but I have been ridiculously busy these last few weeks; college is getting busier, I now have TWO jobs which is insane and romance has, finally, been introduced into my life. (But Draco is still my priority ;) ) Any hoo, I have very nearly finished the next chapter of A Child Called Draco and I write a bit of it everyday so it should be up fairly soon...fingers crossed! Secondly, I can't believe how much HP stuff we've been getting!! We now have a complete picture of Cissa who, despite not looking a bit how I expected, looks epicly amazing next to Lucius _ And THE NEW TRAILER!! AAAAARRRRGH!! If you haven't seen it, get down to mugglenet.com or youtube and GO LOOK IMMEDIATELY!! See you all soon! Lily xx 1/12/08- A new interview has just emerged with Tom Felton, which I thought was quite interesting, where he talks about Draco's motives, Lucius and Draco's upbringing- What kind of relationship do you think Draco has with his father? A very interesting one, actually! I mean, mostly he idolizes his father to every last degree, and equally, I’m sure, he’s terrified of his father! He’s absolutely petrified, and I think most things are done maybe 20 fully from the fear that he might get another clock around the ear! I’d be intrigued to hear what Joanne Rowling would have to say about that. Yeah. Certainly, he’s not the most decent person, but he has a reason, because he’s had a very different sort of upbringing. A Short Explanation of Fics: A Child called Draco: If you have read my fics, you will know that I am a complete sucker for child!Draco and, for various reasons- mainly from CoS and a few particulary fantastic fics- I genuniely believe that our young Mr Malfoy didn't grow up in the most loving of environments. I also chose to write it from Severus' PoV because it is obvious that Sev and Draco have some sort of history and I do think that Severus cares about Draco quite a lot. It is also interesting to write about Lucius- he truly does care for Draco, but has an uncontrolable temper and every child can be irratating at times. He doesn't really understand that Draco is a person in his own right, rather than simply and extension of himself. Sordidity: The word 'Sordidity' doesn't actually mean anything, my friend said it one French lesson and I liked it, so I wrote it at the top of a page that I just happened to start the fic on. It is my first attempt at romance and is just a bit of fun really. It is very different to my other fics, but worth taking a look at if you want a laugh :P Crooked Love: More than a little twisted and from Lucius' PoV, Crooked Love is definitly the weirdest of my fics...I have no idea where it's going, but it's strangely fun to write such a 'warped' character :D I'm not weird ¬¬ lol! Easter at Spinner's End: I love Lucius and Sev because they bounce off one another so well _ Plus, because they're so much tension between the two of them in 'A Child called Draco', I wanted to write a friendship fic which shows how well they get along and how much they depend on each other. It shan't be too angsty, it's just a friendship fic. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f275/2hpfans/a56e1246.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f275/2hpfans/finishedbanner.jpg/ http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f275/2hpfans/COMPLETE.jpg Thankyou to Brighteyes for the amazing banners! huggles I am a supporter of the Sober Universe (SU) I refuse to believe that JKR's recent revelations regarding post-DH ships are canon. I subscribe to the Sober Universe where we can use our imaginations to decide who ended up with who, and where my version is as true as yours. JKR has given us a wonderful universe to play with, but she has finished writing the books. Either she should have given us a decent epilogue to DH, telling us what we wanted to know, rather than what we could have guessed, or she should have kept her ideas about post-DH events, ships and names to herself. It is my personal belief that if she had actually tried to write any of the ships that are now "canon" she would see that they do not work. and prefer to look at the books as canon, but her extra information as fun possibilities. I am aware that, by its very nature, fanfiction is not "canon", and cannot ever truly be canon. However, for those who showed enough respect to Jo Rowling to make every effort to keep their fics in line with her vision - some of her recent decisions have been rather disappointing. Had she included any or all of this information at the end of Deathly Hallows, that would have been wonderful - I'm sure many of us would have preferred a more fully complete edition of the Epilogue, which we were not afforded. I love the universe Jo gave us in first seven books, but beyond hardback canon, if it isn't AU, will be SU canon. Join the SU movement. Copy and Paste this into your profile.
