I posted a new story called To Be the Best. It's about how the Team Seven (along with another shinobi that's one of my favorites) have been chosen to participate in the Shinobi Tournament (something like a ninja world cup). I know the idea isn't very original but I hope how I've potrayed it makes it different. Anyway it focuses on Sasuke and Sakura as a couple and also the team as a whole.

Also, yesterday I started a NejiSaku series that I posted on my livejournal (which is fairly new and still somewhat empty). My favorite characters are (not in order):

From Rurouni Kenshin: Kenshin/Battousai , Kaoru, Saitou, Aoshi, Sanosuke, Seijirou Seta, Seijirou Hiko

From Naruto: Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura (until recently, though, I used to cringe whenever I see her), Kakashi, Neji, Shikamaru, Itachi, Gaara, Yondaime, Shino, Tsunade, Asuma, Genma, Kabuto, Jiraiya, Iruka, Rock Lee and Gai (I think they're cute, in a creepy, funny sort of way and you can't deny they're great fighters!)

From Gokusen: Yamaguchi Kumiko/Yankumi, Shin, Uchiyama (the dramaverse). While I like the manga-anime-verse of Gokusen, I absolutely adore the dramaverse, especially Matsumoto Jun's potrayal of Sawada Shin. Sigh, he certainly made my heart go pitter-patter.

From Bleach: Ichigo (who wouldn't love him?), Rukia, Renji, Byakuya, Uruhara, Hitsugaya, Zaraki Kenpachi, Kurosaki Isshin, Ikkaku, Yumichika, Kon.

From Fruits Basket: Kyou, Shigure, Ayame, Haru, Hatori, Momiji, Hana, Tohru, Uo, Kisa, Hiro.

Favorite Pairings:

(No offense to anyone, but I'm not a big fan of male-on-male or female-on-female or threesomes. When it comes to couples, I'm more of the traditional type)

From Rurouni Kenshin: Kenshin/Battousai and Kaoru (of course!) and Aoshi and Kaoru (I tried to not like this coupling, but I couldn't help it. There's just something about Aoshi . . . hehehe . . .:)

From Naruto: Sasuke and Sakura, Naruto and Sakura, Neji and Sakura, Gaara and Sakura, Shikamaru and Sakura . . . beginning to see the pattern here? Basically, Sakura's the only female character - aside from Tsunade and a very few handful of others - that I truly like and can see being my favorite male characters' girlfriend.

From Gokusen: Yankumi and Shin. I don't care if it's wrong, but I think they're perfect for each other. Besides, she's only like five years older than him. That's nothing compared to the actresses who marry younger men.

From Fruits Basket: Kyou and Tohru (sorry Yuki and Tohru fans) and sometimes (depending on how good the writer is) Hatori and Tohru.

From Bleach: Ichigo and Rukia - sorry, but I just don't see them with anyone else BUT each other.

Characters I dislike:

(No offense to anyone and many apologies if you ARE offended):

From Rurouni Kenshin: Megumi, Misao, Tomoe (intensely) and most of the insane, deranged bad guys the Kenshingumi encounters from time to time.

From Naruto: Ino (seriously dislike), Orochimaru, Tenten (I have no idea why. Just for some reason, she sometimes gets on my nerves, although I don't really not like her, just . . .), Karin

From Bleach: Orihime (sorry, Orihime fans, but I just can't stand her. She's so . . . uggh . . .), Hinamori, Tatsuki (sometimes), Soi Fong, Anzai, Ganjyou.

Further Information:

Okay so this is probably 'uncool' to admit, but I have a thing for possessively protective males. Yes, I'm that type of girl. I don't mean I like the I'll-kill-you-if-you-look-at-another-man kind of possessiveness, but the this-is-my-woman-and-I'll-protect-her-with-every-part-of-my-being kind of possessiveness. And I also like it when the female characters are strong women - mentally, emotionally, physically - but are willing to 'compromise' with their male counterparts' 'caveman tendencies.' And I like it when the relationship takes a lot of work to be built, because I truly believe that nothing easy is worth keeping. So don't be surprised if my stories hold these concepts.

I like stories that show that the authors have obviously put a good amount of effort in them. My favorite kind of stories are those where the authors have managed to keep their characters . . . well, in characters, but at the same time, change a bit of the characters' personalities in ways that are logical and not exaggerated. I especially loved it when the authors managed to pull off the "possessive-male" melodramas so perfectly that I can practically see the characters acting that way on their respective shows.

And while I don't mind reading them, OOCs aren't exactly my cup of tea. While some authors manage to pull off OOCs wonderfully, I am, sadly, not one of them. (sigh).
