Okay, so I normally don't write a lot in my profiles. Anyone that's visited my LJ site can attest to that, however, I figured it was time to enlighten you a bit.

I'm 35yo and a Navy Veteran. I served 7.5yrs in the Navy and saw/did more things by the time I was 25 than most people get to see in their lifetimes. A month in Rota, Spain showed me some awesome sunsets over the ocean and introduced me to some local foods. Six months in Puerto Rico allowed me to learn to scuba dive and explore the Caribbean. If any of you have looked at some of my pictures, you'll see one of a beach shot with an island in the distance. I took that in Vieques, Puerto Rico. It's a lovely little spot that me, a friend and his wife had all to ourselves until a small family joined us a couple hours later. The water was always warm, even during the rain. There's another picture that shows a sunrise over the ocean. That was taken from the balcony of my hotel room at the El Conquistador in nearby San Juan, Puerto Rico in Nov 97.

Another shot is of the sunset in Sigonella, Sicily over the blood orange and olive groves near the base. I spent a total of 8 months there. Five the first time and 3 the last before the end of my 2nd enlistment. Two shots are taken on an aircraft carrier. I don't remember which one, but there's only five that it could be: USS Ranger, USS Constellation, USS Kitty Hawk, USS Abraham Lincoln or USS Carl Vinson. They were taken from the deck edge (next to the scupper) while I stood in the cat walk next to the catapults. One is of an F/A-18 Hornet and the other is of the F-14 Tomcat.

Since I've been out, I've worked security in Albuquerque, NM and got my EMT license there. Then I moved to Colorado and went to Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. During the summers, I worked as a Western Riding Counselor (Wrangler) for the Mile Hi Council at Flying G Ranch. I was also the Assistant Health Supervisor and in 2006, I became the Head Wrangler. A lot of people knew me there as TJ since it was my camp name. I've also tutored kids: a second grader (in 06) at his school and numerous other students in various subjects (Elementary School up to Chemistry). In the spring of 05, I graduated with a BS in Equine (Horse) Science from CSU and in Aug of 06, I moved back home to TN. I've been here since.

I've got a lot of friends out there, some in other states and some a little closer to home. A lot of stuff that I've experienced or seen comes out in my writings. Maybe not in the exact way that it happened, but there's usually some modicum of truth in what is written. I do a LOT of research about stuff before I write about it and hate when people go into a subject and just bs their way through it. The internet makes looking things up too easy to not do things right.

On a lighter note, I've teamed up with Be A Warrior Casseau to make a joint account. The pen name for that account is A Warrior's Prophet. If you really think about it, the name kind of fits. Anyway, if you've received the author alert, you know that both of us are working on a story called Misery Loves Company. Chapter one will be the only chapter that you find on both of our pages. All other chapters will be available on A Warrior's Prophet.

As you've noticed, I write a lot of slash. Sorry if you don't like it, but if you just read the works you find here on ff (dot) net, you'll be fine. Nothing hard will be posted on this site. Also, I was raised so that it doesn't matter the shell that holds the spirit of the person you love. Love is love and sometimes there is nothing you can do about who you love or what they look like. To that effect, I give credit to this next bit to Aisho Ren. I don't know where they first found it, but I totally agree with it.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.
I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.
I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.
I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.
I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.
