Author has written 52 stories for NCIS, Sanctuary, and Stargate: SG-1. [06/04/12] Update: Hey guys! I know that some crazy things have been happening lately. First being that I finally finished NCIS: Apocalypse. I know I lost many of you in the long breaks and I really have no excuse, but it is finished, just as I said it would be, eventually. It is a huge accomplishment, considering that yesterday I realized I had started it back in 2009. Phew. In light of my success, I find it disheartening that the other recent happenings could very well threaten to remove such a huge piece of work. Some readers have taken it upon themselves to report stories to the authorities, so to speak, and make it their mission to have them removed for whatever infraction of the rules they find (i.e. chat speak, songfic, smut...). I don't look down on them for enforcing the rules. Not at all. In fact, it's why I choosing to voluntarily remove some of my work from this site, because some do creep over the line into hazy details. Have I written one smut fic? Yes. Was it truly explicit? Depends on your definition. It's down. Have I written a songfic? Yes. Two, actually. Does it necessarily break the rules about "Copying from a previously published work (including musical lyrics) not in the public domain"? Maybe not. Am I claiming "copied" lyrics as my own work, or am I using it as an artistic counterpoint? You be the judge. It's down. What truly baffles me is that these readers can take such pride and joy in the removal of someone's work. Regardless of quality, each fic is an act of creation. It takes not only heart, but guts, and to have a single reader, let alone an army of them, be glad in the disappearance of such creation is devastating. As a reader and an author both, I denounce both their mission and their tactics. Shame on them. That said, my removed stories have migrated over to Archive of Our Own. Feel free to read them there, and delve into the other uncensored works of some truly amazing authors. | |||||||
