Just a little insight...
In a fic I crave to read about violence, destruction, heart-break, lust, blood, and a twisted slightly sadistic maybe masochistic love. If after the angst-ridden possibly distorted knots of love have been thoroughly tied, a writer can magically untangle them and a happy ending be born, well then, that is truly a bonus I love, because I adore happy endings. Don't get me wrong I'm not all bad, I do enjoy romantifluffnstuff and the occasional tear jerker... I just prefer blood with my kisses.
