Author has written 15 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist, Avatar: Last Airbender, Trigun, and Mercedes Lackey. aim: wildrose500p fictionpress: protection-to the top (really old and crappy stuff here, folks. And those terrible poems that teenage girls always seem to write.) former fanfiction name: shadowriter55 on Beta-reading: as you can see above, I do beta-read for people. Due to time constraints, I only beta for one person at a time, and that slot is currently semi-open. I'll beta-read a fic if it's something I'm really interested in, but because of time issues I make no promises or guarantees. ~~the following just keeps getting longer and longer...~~ Total anime nut, laziest person in the universe, wannabe-author who will probably end up living under a bridge. Am obsessed with writing, Royai, and military uniforms. Also a ridiculous soda junky who was born without the ability to stress. Mmm...what else to mention... I'm 20, a Jew-who-barely-believes-in-God-and-thinks-religion-is-sort-of-silly, and female. (I would hope that's obvious.) I'm currently attending Fairleigh Dickinson University, and loving every millisecond of it. Am into anime, writing, Royai, going on the computer, goofing off, roses, being a lazy and rather violent (fan)girl. Oh, and cursing. I like cursing. Am not into makeup, fake people, damsels-in-distress, Keiko (she just happens to be Yu Yu Hakusho's biggest flaw...), bigots/racists, religious morons (all this One True Religion Convert Or Burn stuff bothers me in the worst way), skirts/dresses, school, math, being bored, and writer's block. I have a few shows I obsess over heavily. I'm a Yu Yu Hakusho fan from way back, but my latest addiction is Fullmetal Alchemist. Others would be Wolf's Rain, Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, Heat Guy J, Teen Titans, Avatar-The Last Airbender, Law and Order, and House. (I'll watch anything, though, as long as it's not either Fruits Basket or Naruto. Yes, I hate Naruto. Yes, I might be the only one.) Reading-wise, it's more a question of what haven't I read. I inhale books. It's fun. For writers, even reading bad books can be useful. (The only exception being, of course, Twilight. There's nothing useful about that shitty mess...unless you were going to use it as firewood or something.) My writing has a mind of its own. I'm incapable of writing short things. My fics have a tendency to go dark and gloomy; I have a bit of a writer's fetish for bloodshed, angst, and making my favorite characters suffer. I believe in 'mature themes', because real life is filled with adult content, and I like to stay realistic. Yay for sex and cursing and all that good stuff. I tend to be a canon-whore when it comes to parings. I'm actually turning into quite the yaoi fangirl, but it has to be canon(ish). Straight characters being turned gay (or vice versa) is just annoying. I take writing, even writing fanfiction, way too seriously for my own good. And now for that oh-so-vital section on what parings I support: I fangirl Royai like there's no tomorrow. Seriously. It's a bit frightening. There are a billion other parings with the two of them (forgive me, but seriously...Roy/Ed? The heck?), and I try to avoid all of them. The other parings in Fullmetal Alchemist I like are Ed/Winry, Danny/Maria, Al/Marta, Greed/Marta, Scar/Lust, Fuery/Shezca (sp?), Havoc/Fuery, and Hughes/Gracia. The only paring I'm really crazy over in FMA is RoyxRiza, though. For Yu Yu Hakusho, I support (as usual) most of the canon parings...Kuwabara/Yukina (I love Kuwabara...) Shizeru/Sakyo (although it's certainly destructive on her part!) Genkai/Toguro (ditto) and I'm also a Boton/Koenma shipper. I despise Keiko, so I don't support her x Yusuke AT ALL, I don't support any Hiei parings because I just can't see him falling in love, and I support Kurama x NON-MARY-SUE-OC, not Kurama/Boton or whatever else you have. For Teen Titans: Beast Boy/Raven, Beast Boy/Terra (but I'm a bigger fan of the first, 'cause post betrayal!Terra just pissed me off) and one of my favorite parings, Robin/Starfire For House (which, true to my fears, is now a full-blown obsession with me): top paring is, without a doubt, Chase/Cameron. I don't know why. I didn't even like Cameron as a character all that much! But putting her with Chase has totally made me do a 180 with my feelings about her. I have no idea who I want Wilson to be with yet, but I do have a sneaking suspicion he's gay. For lack of fanfics paring him with any other male character, I've been reading House/Wilson...but I really don't see House being gay. Guess for right now I prefer Wilson/OtherMaleCharacter? Ah, hell. Wilson is just too awesome not to ship with someone. (Keep in mind: these parings have been decided upon without me having seen season 5 yet.) House himself is just too much of an ass to ship in my opinion, but I do like House/Cuddy, for some twisted reason. House/Cameron, in my opinion anyway, is the worst semi-canon ship in the show. It doesn't work--in my opinion--as anything more or less then the infatuation-on-Cameron's-side the show presented it as. Also, I hate Stacy. For ATLA: I'm a loyal supporter of Katara/Zuko (Zutara)! Canon, not-canon...honestly, at this point I don't care. Aang/Katara bores me to tears. Suki/Sokka is also excellent...then again Sokka is amazing. (I don't mind Yue/Sokka, but...eh...I don't like her as much as I do Suki, so I'd rather Sokka stick with Suki) and Toph/Aang. Of course, everyone knows that the only important characters in Avatar are Iroh and the Cabbage Man. For Trigun: Vash/Meryl and Millie/Wolfwood, and perhaps Legato/Midvalley. Just finished rewatching this show, and I'm more in love with it then ever. For The Last Herald-Mage series, written by Mercedes Lackey: Van/Stefen, and Van/Tylendel (though those two are really one and the same). For Code Geass: Suzaku/Yuffi, Cornelia/Gilford, Ohgi/Viletta, Tohdoh/Nagisa Chiba, Schneizel/Kanon, Lloyd/Cecile, Rivalz/Milly, and I could get behind a decently-written Gino/Kallan. Oh, and Li Xingke/Tianzi. (And I can't lie, Lelouche/Suzaku would be interesting...but in a dark, angsty, quasi-abusive way only.) Lastly, even though I'm really not that huge a fan of the books themselves, Tonks/Lupin from Harry Potter might be one of the best parings of all times. (Anyone who's read the 7th book knows how much I just love that ending! Only, y'know, not really. At all.) Parings you'll never see me reading: Kurama/Hiei, Keiko/anyone; Katara/Aang, Mai/Zuko, Sokka/Toph; Vash/Wolfwood; Robin/Raven; House/Cameron; Lupin/Sirius; :deep breath: Roy/Ed, Roy/Hughes, Roy/Havoc, Roy/Winry, Roy/Lust, Riza/Lust, Riza/Winry, Riza/Scar, Riza/Havoc, Riza/Ed, Ed/Envy, and Ed/Al. Yes, I know I can be rather anal with my parings. Whatever. Favorite characters out of all'a this would be Roy, Riza, Hughes, Sokka, Suki, Zuko, Iroh, Lust, Greed, :coughthecabbagemancough, Tonks, Lupin, Wilson, Chase, Vash, Wolfwood, Meryl, Legato, Vanyel, Tylendel, pretty much every character in Code Geass save Nina, Kuwabara, and Kurama. ~~~~QUOTES...because I am a total quote-whore~~~~ "You can die at any time, but living takes real courage." - Kenshin Himura, Rurouni Kenshin "Clever writers, like fountains, do not seem so deep as they are."--Charles Lamb "Life should be a humane undertaking."--Thom Gunn "Home is the sailor, home from the sea, and the hunter home from the hill."--Robert Louis Stevenson "Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months." - Oscar Wilde "Anyone who can only think of one way to spell a word obviously lacks imagination." --Mark Twain "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."- Moulin Rouge "Imagination is more important than knowledge."-Albert Einstein "Death is not the worst that could happen to men." - Plato CURRENTLY WORKING ON: (Please keep in mind: as I mentioned above, I'm in college now and have next to no free time. So expect slow updates and slower progress on editing Perspectives. Bare with me!) Perspectives edits--Chapters 1-13 have been redone. Chapter 14 is next for the fixing-up. Updates on this have basically stopped. I might go back to editing one day, but I get nauseous every time I read it. Best just to accept it for what it is. --FMA-- Every Missing Irony-- Various takes on the RoyRiza themes, reviews wanted! This story will continue to be updated, but sparingly. Once every three or four months at best. --FMA-- The Wanderers-- A joint, multi-chapter fic between skywalker05 and I! There will be Royai, some Edwin, lots of violence, Nazis, more violence, drama, angst, even more violence...basically, this is the deepest I've ever gotten into the FMA canon before, and I'm extremely excited to be writing it! Takes place after the anime, but ignores the movie. --FMA-- FINISHED FICS: --The Fire Nation Trilogy-- --Violent Delights-- Same thing as Past the Fall and Afterthought, but it deals with Azula. No major parings, besides a quick dash of Sokka/Suki...she's creepy enough without the added drama of romance! --A:TLAB-- --Past the Fall-- Companion fic to Afterthought, only from Zuko's point of view. Mai/Zuko lovers might want to stay clear. Very short, very choppy. --A:TLAB-- -- Afterthought-- A short character piece on Fire Lord Ozai, whose character fascinates me. No parings, just a lot of Ozai. Companion piece of a sort to Violent Delights and Past the Fall.--A:TLAB-- --Royai Fanfiction-- -- The Colonel and the First Lieutenant-- A finally finished series; my first few attempts at one-shots of the paring. Most of it is much older work, including some that dates back to--and is as poorly written as--Perspectives. --FMA-- --Remember Tomorrow-- A one-shot written for a challenge between some friends and myself. An attempt at first person Royai. --FMA-- -- Midnight Insomnia-- My first ever Royai smut-fic...it needs work, but...hey...it's a Royai smut fic. That just says it all. --FMA-- -- The Beginning's Sacrifice--My take on chapter 62 of the FMA manga. Angsty as all heck, but I love it. (It's finished, people, don't put it on story alerts!) --FMA-- -- Perspectives--is bad. It just is. It was my first ever fanfiction, written several years ago, and it's just...craptastic writing, with laughable characterization problems on the side. I'm fixing it up, but at a rate of about a chapter per decade, since rereading it makes me sort of sad. I won't lie, I'd still like feedback on it...but if you want to see if I have any talent, that's most certainly not the story to read. --FMA-- --Other-- A Pleasure to Burn -- Super-short little Ishbal one-shot focusing on Roy. Angst, angst, and more angst, as always, buut...no Royai. Surprisingly. Written as a result of reading too many good classic novels with tons of lurking metaphors to pick apart. --FMA-- Unrequited-- Short, PWP look at Scar/Lust (animeverse, obviously). It's a paring I've always wanted to write, and I managed to use it as an excuse to write second-person as well. --FMA-- Filthy Women-- One of the darker things I've written...deals with Azula as seen in those last few episodes, so if you read it, prepare for insanity and bad-on-purpose punctuation. --A:TLAB Eden of Stone-- I love Wolfwood, I love Trigun in general, and Skywalker05 promised she'd write for the show if I did, so! This is a short, bitter one-shot...it's told from Wolfwood's point of view, and revolves around that Nicholas-related incident towards the end of the show that I really wish never was. Mostly Millie/Wolfwood, but some Vash/Meryl as well. Dark. --Trigun-- The Last Herald-Mage-- Oh my god, Vanyel. Why do you have to be so angsty and delicious! This is actually my first slash/yaoi fic (first of many, I suspect), and it's as dark as poor Vanyel's life tends to be. Stefen tries to both heal his lover, and come to grips with what and who he actually is...contains spoilers for the last book, up to and including Stef's history. Anyone who's finished the book will already have figured it out, but a warning for the rest: deals with rape, although not in an explicit way. CURRENTLY CRAVING: Well-written Zuko/Katara one-shots Well-written one-shots on the lesser known characters of any fandom Well-written Collins/Angel one-shots Well-written Wilson/O.M.C and/or Chase/Cameron! Well-written Vanyel/Stefen and Vanyel/Tylendel! Well-written Roy/Riza (anything, as usual) At the moment I'm wandering from fandom to fandom with the help of skywalker05 and Argenteus Draco...Fullmetal Alchemist remains an obsession (blasted Royai), with Avatar a close second. And rounding out the top three is everyone's favorite jackass of a doctor. (Well, ok: the whole reason I like the show is because of poor, hapless Wilson!) I love requests, challenges, constructive critiques, and reviews in general. Tell me what you think about my writing and I'll be happy...leave me one of those super-long, in-depth, really detailed reviews and I'll be really happy. | |||||||||||||
